					             OLD SNEAKERS WANTED:
                 BEST FOOT FORWARD

Every morning millions of sneakers hit the ground running. Every
morning, millions more are left useless and forgotten in the back of
a closet. Have you ever thought about how many pairs of old
shoes you have lying around?
On September 30th, 2010, Long Island Works – a division of
Goodwill Industries of Greater New York & Northern New Jersey –
kicked off the “Best Foot Forward” Sneaker Drive at Career
Academy schools across Long Island. The program, subtitled “A
Green Kind of BFF,” is a Career Academy-wide effort that is getting
shoes kicking across Long Island.
The Golden Prodigy Steppers, a new service oriented club within
the SGA of Dowling College, are stepping out seeking the support
of fellow students and the Dowling community to donate used
sneakers for a worthy cause. Any size and any condition of
sneakers will be accepted. All previously worn sneakers donated
will be refurnished and given to others around the world without
shoes to wear. So put your best foot forward and donate your
sneakers today. The big blue bin will remain in the lobby of the
Racanelli Center throughout the week.
