Travelhost Magazine of Northern Utah is looking for FOUR writing and PR interns Writer/Journalist Wanted TRAVELHOST, specializing in Northern Utah tourism and local businesses, is looking for writing interns to cover area tourism topics. Assigned topics plus enterprise stories. Applicants must have completed the 2000-level JCOM writing class (public affairs, PR writing or broadcast). Ability to work independently and on deadline, and to work effectively with community representatives and organizations required. Hours flexible and will vary. JCOM credit available. Three Public Relations Interns Wanted 1. Hotel Liaison • Develop relationships with TRAVELHOST distribution partners • Build value for partners association with TRAVELHOST through marketing, community relations and advertiser interaction • Create systems and protocols that can be followed by future interns. This person should be customer service-oriented and a good organizer. Contact area hotel managers and personnel to build familiarity with the TRAVELHOST brand and encourage participation with our distribution. Gather and build the information for the hotels website on TRAVELHOST.com. Develop programs to help promote hotels and to "serve the traveler." Coordinate with the other PR interns. 2. Meeting Planner—Community Relations • Build value for advertiser involvement with TRAVELHOST brand • Educate advertisers about travel industry and accessing travelers • Become the link between advertisers and hotels/restaurants • Build awareness in the community about TRAVELHOST and support community projects. • Create systems and protocols that can be followed by future interns Good organizational skills and ability to plan and put together meetings, conferences and socials with hotel and restaurant personnel and advertisers. Plan educational meetings for potential advertisers to promote TRAVELHOST and educate them about travelers in this area. Identify community events and projects to get involved with and develop methods to get involved. Coordinate with other interns. 3) Cyber Promotions Developer and Traveler Information • Develop electronic media and tools to connect w/ travelers • Build value for advertisers involvement with TRAVELHOST brand • Create systems and protocols that can be followed by future interns Computer, Internet and Web skills required. Develop online interactive tools for travelers—TRAVELHOST.com web site, blogs, Twitter, Facebook, etc. Create online mechanisms for advertisers to connect with target markets and travelers. Website must provide travelers with ideas and information about the area, events and activity suggestions, via website and cellphones. Develop methods and plans to promote these resources to travelers. Coordinate with other interns. All positions are freelance. Interns must be able to work independently and provide their own equipment, phones, computers, Internet connections, transportation, etc. Some expenses (e.g., mileage) may be reimbursed.
