the initial funding for the

The bank initially released

The mayor believed that the

and provided the weather will also cooperate as the onset
of the rainy season is about to begin.
In a related development, Laoag Councilor Francis
Dacuycuy also expressed hopes that the hospital will
now soon be realized.
Dacuycuy, who chairs the city council’s committee
on health, said the hospital has also an allocation of P100
million for equipments from the P350 million loan pack-
age.
He said that the city government has also started
canvassing prices for equipments from suppliers, dis-
tributors and even principals with regards to the hospi-
tal equipments that would be purchased.
He added that specialist doctors here in the prov-
ince have also convened as to the preferences based
on the canvass and specifications of all the submitted
equipments for the acquisitions.
Likewise, the mayor also instructed the members of
the Bidding and Awards Committee (BAC) to facilitate
the bidding procedures for the equipments that needs to
be bought.
Some of which are hospital beds, operating lights,
operating tables, other equipments for the operating
room, and portable x-rays among others.
Since the hospital will be an economic enterprise,
the mayor said that the operation will be exempted un-
der the personnel salary cap limitation.
Relative to this, Fariñas is also hoping that the hos-
pital will also be a huge revenue generator for the city
government similar to the Laoag City Commercial Com-
plex, which also an economic enterprise.
Aside from that, the mayor also said that the pro-
posed upgrading of the hospital would also be known as
one of the best hospitals in Northern Luzon with com-
plete facilities like the Lorma Hospital in La Union and
the Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical
Center in Batac City.
