                                          August 12-13. 2010
                                        Ottawa (Navan), Ontario

Hello Alpaca Enthusiasts,

The Navan Fair is fast approaching! This year will be the sixth Composite Halter Show and the
fifth Fleece Show. Why not take advantage of this opportunity to show your alpacas and/or
fleeces, learn from more experienced breeders, share knowledge with others, market your
farm and your products, and check the progress of your breeding programs. Our industry is still
relatively small and the Navan Fair Alpaca Show offers an excellent opportunity to present
alpacas to the public and to prospective breeders. Your support of this event will ensure its
continued existence.

Sincere thanks are extended to our generous supporters for the stud services offered and sold.
The sale of stud services will assist us in covering show expenses such as judge, pens and
administrative costs and may enable us to offer prize money for the show. Please check our
website www.navanfairalpacashow.com for the current list of sponsors. Registration is now
underway. Again this year we offer online entry of alpacas and fleeces and online registration
for all entries, pens, sponsorships and marketing opportunities such as farm and herdsire
showcases. To complete your show registration please enter your alpacas/fleeces with the
online entry form, submit a completed online registration form and send the completed
remittance form with required documentation, fleece sample and payment by the due date.

The NFAS is sanctioned under the AC Show System (#24) and follows the Alpaca Canada
Show System Rules.

Please note that judging of the composite show will be the same as last year. There will be a
fleece steward in the ring in addition to a ring steward. Fleeces will not be scored beforehand,
unless they have been entered in the Fleece Show. When entering with the alpaca, each
exhibitor is responsible for bringing the shorn blanket fleece of the alpaca into the ring and
handing it to the fleece steward in the ring. The fleece bag has to include the same class entry
number as the alpaca and show the months of fleece growth. The exhibitor will leave the ring
with the fleece. This routine also applies to all championship rounds.

Fleeces can be entered in the fleece show even if the alpaca is registered in the composite
show. If a fleece is entered in the Fleece show, the exhibitor must find the scored fleece in the
area next to the ring and bring it with him when entering the halter class. Score cards and
identification forms in the fleece bag must be removed before entering the ring for the halter
class, so that only the class entry number with the months of growth are shown. Each exhibitor
will receive 2 copies of class entry form.

We are pleased to announce that our judge this year is Wade Gease. Wade is an AOBA
certified alpaca judge, judge trainer, presenter and consultant. Wade has judged & presented
throughout the United States and Canada. He is one of the few alpaca judge trainers in all
areas of halter, fleece and performance. Wade is also a certified Camelid Fibre Sorter from
Olds College Natural Fibre Centre, Canada. Presently he serves on the board for the Great
Lakes Alpaca Association and AFCNA, Alpaca Fiber Cooperative of North America. He has
been co-owner of LondonDairy Alpacas and Alpaca Threads gift store since 1997.

REMINDER: This is a composite show. Alpacas that you intend to bring to the Navan Fair
Alpaca Show – Halter Show must be shorn for the show. This applies to both huacayas and
suris.
