Cheryl Barre Chief Marketing Officer Arby’s Restaurant Group, Inc. Cheryl Barre serves as Chief Marketing Officer for Arby’s Restaurant Group, Inc. (ARG), the only quick-service restaurant offering slow-roasted and freshly-sliced roast beef sandwiches and Market Fresh™ deli sandwiches, wraps and salads with the convenience of a drive-thru. Barre spent fifteen years with the Pepsi-Cola Co., beginning her career in marketing, then moving into positions of increasing responsibility in sales and operations. From 1996 – 1998, Barre was General Manager of Pepsi’s Heartland division, responsible for leading 1800 employees in nine bottling operations across seven states. In 1998, Barre led strategic planning and new business acquisition as a Division Vice President for Fountain Beverage. In 1999, Barre joined Russell Corporation as Vice President of Marketing for the Artwear Division. She later became President of the Mass Retail Division, a $350 million business selling activewear and specialty apparel in the mass channel. In 2003, she was tapped to lead the Women’s and Outdoor Division managing a portfolio of brands including Russell Athletic, Mossy Oak and Moving Comfort. In 2005, Barre joined Georgia Pacific Corp. as Senior Vice President Marketing in the Retail Division. She led strategic plan development and all marketing activities for a portfolio of brands including Quilted Northern, Angel Soft, Brawny, Sparkle and Vanity Fair. In 2006, Barre joined Arby’s Restaurant Group, Inc. as Chief Marketing Officer. In her current role, Barre oversees the marketing strategies for the Arby’s system, including media and advertising, product development, promotions, agency management and field marketing. She also contributes to company direction through her role on ARG’s senior team. On July 25, 2005, Arby’s parent company, Triarc Companies, acquired RTM to form Arby’s Restaurant Group, an Atlanta-based company comprised of more than 1,000 company-owned restaurants and approximately 3,500 locations world-wide. In October 2005, Arby’s Restaurant Group entered into a management agreement with AFA, reuniting the system for the first time since 1979. A Stamford, Connecticut native, Barre received her MBA from the Colgate Darden Graduate School of Business Administration and her Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of Virginia. She lives in Marietta with her husband Mark and three children and enjoys hiking in the mountains and gardening as hobbies. She is also active in the community, serving as Secretary of the Board of Trustees of The Walker School and past chair of the Girls Inc. of Greater Atlanta board.
