Students interested in summer school English or Algebra should complete an application in the Guidance
office by Wednesday.
Any 7th or 8th grade student interested in attending a youth leadership camp this summer, sponsored by the
Indiana Sheriff’s Association, please see Ms. Blatz in guidance.
There will be a Future Farmer’s 4-H meeting Thursday, May 7th , from 6:45-8:15 p.m. at the LaFontaine
What can you do to help our nation get and stay on the right track? Come join millions across the nation as
Southwood students and staff take part in the “National Day of Prayer”, this Thursday at 7:30 a.m. in the
courtyard ( the east gym in the case of inclement weather). In support of our troops and in support of the
United States of America, you are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue Thursday.
Lunch for today is breakfast sandwich, tater tots, juice, fresh fruit, and milk.

I. In action from last night’s Knight athletic schedule . . .
> CONGRATULATIONS to the JUNIOR VARSITY BASEBALL TEAM which defeated
Manchester 10 - 9. Dalton Gentry hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh and had a
second hit in the contest; Tim Castle, Dylan Sparks, and Jordan Eckman all added a pair of hits
each; Sexton Boggs and Collin Huston and Clayton Schultz all added hits for hte4 and 4 JV.
> CONGRATULATIONS to the VARSITY TENNIS TEAM which bested Eastern, 3 - 2. Olivia
Forthofer , Alysia Adams and Emma Forthofer and Liz Collins and McKayla Hogge were Knight
> CONGRATULATIONS to the JUNIOR VARSITY TENNIS TEAM which defeated Eastern, 7 - 1.
Breona Law, Heather Rapp, Alyssa Stout, Sarah FAdil, Erica Guerrero, Brooke Vielee and Hilary
Hickert notched net wins for the JV.
> CONGRATULATIONS to the VARSITY GOLF TEAM which defeated Bluffton 167 - 183. Devin
Dale was the Knight medalist with a 38 and Josh Teulker had a 41.
> CONGRATULATIONS to the JUNIOR VARSITY GOLF TEAM which topped Bluffton 204-250.
Josh Cline had a 44 and Levi Wright had a 50 to lead the JV.
> The VARSITY SOFTBALL TEAM fell to Madison Grant, 2 - 0. Andrea
Case had a pair of hits and Sydney Simpson added a hit for the 9 and 7
> HIGH LIGHT PERFORMANCES from Monday night’s Knight athletic schedule:
- The VARSITY SOFTBALL TEAM defeated Taylor 7 - 3.
- The VARSITY BASEBALL TEAM fell to Western 10 - 3.
- The VARSITY TENNIS TEAM defeated Whitko 3 - 2.
- The JV TENNIS TEAM beat Whitko 7 - 1.
- The VARSITY GOLF TEAM beat Culver, 148-195. Jacob Shaw tied the school record
with a 33 !
- The SEVENTH GRADE BOYS TRACK TEAM defeated Northfield and North Miami in a
- The EIGHTH GRADE BOYS TRACK TEAM split a three way with Northfield and North
- The EIGHTH GRADE GIRLS TRACK TEAM tied Northfield but fell to North Miami in a
triangular meet on Monday. Sarah White set a new school record in the 800 meter run with
a 2:42 !
- The SEVENTH GRADE GIRLS TRACK TEAM split a three way , falling to Northfield but
defeating North Miami. Amy Bowman established another new record in the 1600 meter
run with a 5:48 !

> The VARSITY BASEBALL TEAM hosts Manchester in the opening Wednesday of the Three
Rivers Conference schedule in a 5:00 pm contest at “The Launching Pad”. Admission is $4.00 per
> The JUNIOR VARSITY BASEBALL contest at Eastbrook HAS BEEN CANCELLED.
> The defending Three Rivers Champion VARSITY SOFTBALL TEAM hosts Manchester in their
TRC opener slated to begin at 5:00 pm contest at “The Yard”. Admission is $4.00 per person.
> The JUNIOR VARSITY SOFTBALL TEAM travels to Whitko for a 5:00 pm contest with the

> Physical forms, valid for the 2009-2010 school year, are available in the main office. Physicals will
be conducted on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at the Wabash Honeywell Center from 5:30 - 8:30 pm.
Cost of the physical is $15.00 per person. New forms are available in the main office.
