Baptism: Katelyn Elizabeth Steuck, daughter of Randy and Lisa Stueck, is brought to the Lord in Holy Baptism
this weekend during the 9:45 service. Katelyn’s sponsors are Terri and Jeff Jungte, and Ryan Steuck.
Open House … Flowers near the altar are in honor of the 80th birthday TODAY of John Bosek given by his
family. You are invited to join them at In the Pines on Friday, May 22, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. to help celebrate
his birthday AND the 50th Wedding Anniversary of John and Arlene.

Sundays of every month. Buying this coffee helps to not only support farmers but also advocates for the

Other Useful Supplies: Coffee: decaffeinated, Coffee creamer, Aluminum foil, Light bulbs: 60 & 100 watt,
    Wrapped candy/candy bars
Smaller Item Needs for Guest Rooms: Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, Hand Sanitizer, Quartz alarm clocks/clock

Other Donations: $25 to cover a one-night stay for a family in financial need, (leave this in church office).

The Children’s Christmas Store welcomes your spring cleaning donations during the month of May. Look for
the labeled bins in the West Narthex and also near the Welcome Center.

There’s still time to register for Vacation Bible School! Stop by and register at the booth set up near the
Welcome Center in the East Narthex TODAY and receive a prize!

Kingdom Kids and KICK Registration begins this Sunday, May 17th at 9:45 am! There is a registration
table set up in the Choir Room for you to sign up during the Kingdom Kids End of the Year Celebration.
Kingdom Kids (3 year olds by Sept. 1st, 2009 through 6th grade)
  • There are two sessions of Kingdom Kids. One session is offered during the 8:30 service and the other is
    offered during the 9:45 service.
  • Due to space limitations classes will be balanced based on timely receipt of registration. You must
    indicate 1st and 2nd choices in order for registration to be processed. Early registration will increase the
    likelihood of receiving your 1st choice.
  • Special programming for 5th & 6th grade students is offered during the 8:45 session only.
KICK (3rd through 6th grade students during the 2009-2010 school year)
KICK takes place after school on Wednesdays from 3:30 pm to 4:40 pm followed by Youth Choir at 4:45 pm.

Kingdom Kids End of the Year Celebration is TODAY Sunday May 17th at 9:45 in the Fellowship
Hall! ALL students will attend the celebration at one time. You don't want your kids to miss it!
Spring Time Cleaning and Planting at church…. We are planning a day of outdoor church
cleaning and planting. In conjunction with Join Hands sponsored through Thrivent Financial
for Lutherans, we are setting aside Saturday, May 23rd at 10:00 AM to beautify our church
yard along with First Lutheran Lake Ida Cemetery. Please sign up at the Welcome Center.

Carlos State Park and City Park Outdoor Worship Services begin Sunday, May 24!!
The Carlos State Park worship service is held in the amphitheatre area located on the North side of Lake
Carlos at 10:30 a.m. A state park permit will be required for all those who enter the park.
The City Park service is held down the hill near the band shelter at 11:00 a.m.
Weather related cancellations will be announced during the 9:45 worship broadcast on KXRA 1490. If
cancelled the 11:00 service will be held in the church Sanctuary.

                             ROGATION WORSHIP CELEBRATION
                      We will ‘ask’ God to bless our SOIL, SEED, and WATER.
Join us Saturday, May 30 at 5:30,,, and Sunday May 31 at 8:30, 9:45, and 11:00 at City Park
               You are invited to bring to the service you attend:
        • sample of seeds from your fields, or vegetable garden, or flower bed
              • a cup or glass of soil from your field, or vegetable garden, or flower
                                                    bed
            And, at the 5:30 Saturday service only:
            Bring your tractor; actively used, restored, field or garden tractor or
            riding lawn mower. The parking area closest to the garage will be reserved for tractors,
       garden tractors, and mowers and will be part of the service of blessing on Saturday evening.

Attention Softball Players We’re looking forward to another great season of co-ed softball! We play other
area Church teams each week. If you can’t play every week consider being a substitute. Bleachers are
available for you to come cheer the teams on!

  • Open to all skill-levels
  • Season runs Thursday evenings
  • mid-May through mid-August

Class of 2009 Graduation Recognition at First Lutheran will be on Sunday, June 7 during the 9:45 service.
Graduates should wear their cap and gown. Cake will be served in the Family Room in your honor at 10:30.
Graduates are asked to please submit a photo and future plans to the office by May 31st.

The Bridge Group meets at church the 2nd and 4th Monday at 1:00 PM. Call Linda at 763-3130 or LaDean at
763-7740 by the previous Saturday if you’re interested in playing. We will not meet on May 25 (Memorial Day),
June dates are June 8th and 22nd. Cheri Norsted was high scorer at bridge the last date.

JUNE MYSTERY BUS TRIP……
              Fasten your seat belts because it’s almost time for this summers Mystery Bus Trip. The date is
              Monday, June 22. We will depart from church at 8:00 AM and return by approximately 4:00
              PM. The day will include some interesting stops, morning coffee and treats, lunch, and more
              fun than Lutherans should be allowed to have. The cost is $41.00 per person. Sign-up is on a
              first come, first serve basis. We request payment within 10 days of registration and is non-
          refundable. We have space for 27 more people, so call a friend and sign up soon! Pastor Greg

LCBC Memorial Servant Weekend Camp Cleanup Day, May 23
Show your HANDS-ON support and help us get camp ready for summer! A GREAT way to support your
camp, as an individual or a group. No charge for this event! We will have projects of varying skill level,
working from approximately 9:00 AM through supper and a sending worship service. Lunch and supper will be
provided. Some projects we are hoping to accomplish: refreshing Welcome Signs and ARC decks, general
cabin cleanup, floral and landscaping around dining room, spreading woodchips in archery area and on trails,
painting ARC rooms, clean up brush and downed trees, clean up of LC adopted Cty. Rd 11, bridge repair,
