Make plans to join us for this exciting th evening on Monday, October 5 at 7 P.M. at the Cobb Galleria Center. Reservations will open in August and we are expecting a capacity crowd. As always, tickets are complimentary. If you would like to save your spot early, become a table host! Table hosts are responsible for filling a table of 10 and acting as the host for the evening. This scholarship is awarded each year to a former classmate of Gabby. Pictured with the Spinas and Casey is last year’s winner, John Hampel and Middle School Principal, Greg Moser. It was very special and the teachers and staff truly enjoyed it and appreciate all of you parents. Lower School Yearbook Distribution and Signing Party: Friday, August 7th Each family receives one complimentary Yearbook. Additional Yearbooks are $25. FCS Band: Do you have an FCS elementary or middle school student who loves music? Has your child ever played a band instrument, or would you like your child to learn? Then sign your child up for the dynamic and growing FCS band for next school year! FCS Band is available for any rising students in 3rd through 7th grade. No prior band or instrument experience is necessary - just a desire to play music! Elementary grades will meet Monday & Wednesdays after school, 3:00 - 4:15 The cost will be $250 for each semester (16 weeks each), starting August 17th. Fees cover professional instruction from FCS Band Director and professional musician, Brent Whiten. Middle school band meets on Tuesday & Thursday during the school day, with no additional charge. To find out how you can become a part of this great and growing school music group, stop by the "Band th Bash" at the Back-to-School Celebration, Friday, August 7 . You'll be able to visit with Mr. Whiten, check-out different instruments and get all the details! From Mrs. Gutermann: The students who were in art class during the 4th school quarter will have their Painted Candlepin Forms displayed at the Brunswick Bowling Alley in Roswell. They will be displayed for the month of July and will be safely locked in the display case for viewing. Take a quick trip there and see your child’s work. Each student did such a great job developing the characters of their choice. I am very proud of them! Have a wonderful summer and see you in August! Fall Soccer and Flag Football: We are currently registering for Fall Soccer and Flag Football – K-5. See the last two pages of the e-Notes for the registration form. Notice from the Clinic: If your child has any medication in the clinic, including epi-pens & inhalers, please pick it up on Friday, May 22 Any remaining medication will be disposed of on Monday, June 1 . All medication must be picked up by a parent. It cannot be released to a student. nd. st Last Chance for Lost and Found: The lost & found cabinets will be emptied on Thursday, May 28th. Remaining items will be donated to Goodwill. If your child is missing anything, especially FCS clothing items, PLEASE check the cabinets and claim by 3 P.M. High School News Math and English Summer Packets: Summer Packets will be posted on the website by June 1st. Completion of these packets is required by the first day of school and will be the first grade of the semester. Interested in Wrestling or Lacrosse? Contact the athletic office and speak with either Coach Lindner or Coach Luck if you are interested for next year. Marching Band Opportunity: For the 2009/2010 Varsity Football Games, the Joyful Noise Marching Saint Band will be performing. They are a Christian Home schooled marching band of about 60-75 high school students. They have opened membership to any Fellowship Christian School student who may be interested. They have opening at all positions, i.e., drumlin, brass, woodwinds, and flags. If you are interested or need more information please call Coach Lindner in the Athletic Office @ 770-641-6829. 2009 FCS GRADUATION RECEPTION INFORMATION: The 2009 FCS Senior Graduation takes place Friday, May 22 at 7 p.m. at Johnson Ferry Road Baptist Church. It is a tradition at FCS for the underclassmen families to give the graduation reception as a gift to the seniors and their families. FRESHMAN, SOPHOMORE, AND JUNIOR CLASS FAMILIES PROVIDE THE REFRESHMENTS FOR THE RECEPTION WHICH IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWS THE CEREMONY. To insure that we will have enough food, EVERYONE IS REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE. Listed below are your class assignments and instructions: If you have a Senior graduating, you do NOT provide refreshments. FRESHMAN CLASS - FINGER SANDWICHES 1. Have everything in disposable containers labeled with your name. Each family needs to bring TWO DOZEN finger sandwiches PLEASE – nothing messy or needing to be heated. Bring them to the high school concession area by 8:30 a.m. on Friday May 22. Someone will be there to collect your food and check off your name. 2. IDEAS: Fancy tea or finger sandwiches, pimiento cheese, chicken salad, ham and cheese, turkey and cheese, small pinwheel sandwiches, etc. 3. NO PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY, PLEASE. SOPHOMORE CLASS - DESSERTS 1. Have everything in disposable containers, labeled with your name. Each family needs to bring THREE DOZEN HOME-MADE desserts. Bring them to the high school concession area by 8:30 a.m. on Friday May 22. Someone will be there to collect your food and check off your name. 2. IDEAS: Thumbprint cookies, Mexican wedding cookies, small sugar cookies, mini tarts, cream puffs, mini cheesecake bites, petit fours, small iced brownies. 3. We will have to stick to the registration deadline. Please note the following important information: Purpose? The FCS K-5 Soccer program is geared for boys and girls in grades th Kindergarten through 5 . These students will be assigned to a team with their peers. This program is designed to allow students the opportunity to gain experience in this sport and work on team building skills. Players? Students of FCS, FBC, neighbors and friends. . . everyone is welcome! However, FCS and FBC will be given first priority. Practices? Practices will be held one night during the week. Games? Intramural games will be held on Saturday mornings beginning at 9:00 a.m. and will run throughout the day. Times will be announced. Teams will play against other FCS teams.
