BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

The Civil Support Team (WMD) is a high priority response unit comprised of 22 full-time Army and Air National Guard personnel. The CST (WMD) supports civil authorities by responding to WMD terrorism incidents. The CST Deputy Commander serves as the lead unit planner for training and operations, taking input and requirements from section leaders to build and manage the CST YTP. Acts as Rater for the four section leaders. Leads the CST section leaders in implementing commander’s orders and policies. Assigns tasks to section leaders and monitors task completion. Provides oversight for budget activities. Ensures regular revisions for the unit Emergency Response Plan and Standard Operating Guidance. Oversees officer professional development. Participates in unit hiring actions. Conducts liaison with and provides briefings for outside agencies and organizations. In CBRNE response operations, manages the CST Operations Center and the downrange operation. Demonstrates knowledge and training in civilian HAZMAT operations and CBRNE detection and assessment methods. Understands and can articulate CST capabilities to first responders. Understands and can work in the Incident Command System (ICS) at the local, state, and federal levels. Performs other duties as assigned. The selectee must become CST qualified by completing 504 hours of CST training and earning SQI R1 (CBRNE Responder). Must qualify for a Top Secret Clearance and meet medical screening to include OSHA respiratory standards. CST members are required to establish residency within 45 minutes of Fort Indiantown Gap and maintain on call status rotation (quick response) while assigned to the CST. Selectee will be required to attend the first available Civil Support Skills Course.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES: Individuals meeting the qualification requirements may apply by submitting NGB Form 34-1 (Application for Army and Air AGR Positions). Application form must arrive at the HRO-AGR not later than the closing date shown above. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Vacancy fills that result in a New Accession will be initially limited to one year tour increments under Title 32, USC Section 502(f). Follow-on tour renewal may be from 1 – 6 years but will not exceed ETS/MSD. Officers must meet the entry level AFSC qualification criteria outlined in AFMAN 36-2105 for the UMD position. Enlisted personnel must possess an AFSC compatible with the UMD position outlined in AFMAN 36-2108 upon entry on military duty. Those applicants not members of ANG must include documents awarding AFSC (DD 214, orders, etc.).
