Due to recent flooding, the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has issued a boil water notice for the following areas: all state regulated systems in Gulkana, Tanana, Akiak, Eagle, Circle and Beaver; in Red Devil, the Kuspuk School District’s George Willis senior school; in Aniak, the Sackett Center. DEC recommends that all residents using private wells in Gulkana, Tanana, Akiak, Aniak, Eagle, Circle, Ft. Yukon, Beaver and Stevens Village boil their water prior to consumption. Those operating under a boil water notice should boil water used for drinking, cooking, hand washing or dish washing for at least two minutes. DEC will rescind boil water notices for state regulated water systems once it is determined that water is safe to drink.
