Classified Job-Alike Committee
Responsibilities and Requirements
Purpose of Job Alike Committees:
The Job Alike Committees have served to address job and work condition issues, as well as a discussion
forum for district policies and procedures. With the implementation of the Classified contract between
the District and the Douglas County Federation of Classified Employees (DCFCE), the committee will
also present new issues and concerns to the DCFCE Bargaining Committee throughout the year.
Each member will report to and receive questions or concerns from their respective employee group. For
example: Schools Job Alike: Registrar representative – will communicate with Registrars district-wide.
Commitment/Criteria
1 year commitment. Members will re-apply to participate in subsequent years.
Criteria: at least 90 days in current position
Union Membership is NOT a criteria for the 06-07 school year.
Training
The first meeting of the year will consist of a training portion. This training is to ensure that all job alikes
and their respective members be informed with regard to procedures and responsibilities of participation.
Attendance
Commitment to a monthly 1-hr. meeting from September through June. Meetings are to be held during
the work day and employees are paid for their attendance at their current rate of pay.
The ISS/SpEd Job Alike Committee will meet after the school day.
No substitutes will be permitted without prior application and approval.
A member will be replaced if:
1. They are absent for two (2) consecutive meetings; or
2. They are unable to attend three (3) meetings within the year
Roles of Members:
There will be several positions or roles within each Job Alike Committee for members to fulfill.
Members interested in one of these roles may say so at the first meeting.

There will also be representation from District Administration, Human Resources, and the DCFCE to
serve in an advisory capacity.
