									             Job Description: System-on-Chip (SoC) Product Marketing Manager

Reports to:             Global Marketing Director
Location:               Shanghai                  Status: Full Time / Permanent Employee

Qualifications

Must have:

       Masters degree in EE/CS or related field
       Minimum 5 years work experience in engineering and/or marketing
       Product Marketing Experience
            o Product Positioning
            o Competitive analysis
            o Product Planning/Definition for Application/Mobile/Media Processor
            o Margin/NPV/Forecasting
            o Opportunity Assessment
            o Basic Marketing Background: 5 forces, SWOT, 4 C’s, etc.
       Understanding of chip design process: RTL, Timing closure, synthesis, floorplanning, etc.
       Solid understanding of computer architecture and mobile system design.
            o Examples: Designed Mobile Phone Systems or PDAs or GPS devices.
       Must be willing to travel 30%+ abroad to Europe, Taiwan, and Korea.
       Excellent written and oral communication skills
       Fluent in English and Chinese

Preferred to have:
       7+ years work experience directly related to system design for Smartphones, Netbook/MIDs, PDAs, and
        PNDs (Portable Navigation Devices).
       Understanding of Embedded Architectures
           o Embedded 3D Graphics, MultiMedia, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS are desired.

Job Tasks

This position reports to marketing product planning department, which interfaces to engineering team and
external companies.


Main responsibilities include
       Identify key market trends and requirements for SiRF’s target markets.
       Identification and negotiation with key suppliers of Silicon IP.
       Lead product definition by working closely with advanced technology group, SOC design team, SW
        design, partners and customers.
       Drive implementation of product specification with engineering groups
       Interface with key customers and technology partners to validate and strengthen product roadmap and
        competitive positioning
       Define positioning for next generation SOC products.
       Perform technical and business competitive analysis
       Manage product line from “womb” to “tomb” – including sales training, design win effort, operations
        forecasting, margin management, and reference design creation.
