JOB TITLE LOCATION
Management Accountant Based at the Ipswich office with a moderate amount of travel to other offices. The company reserves the right at anytime to require you to work at a different location either on a temporary or permanent basis on reasonable notice.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to the Finance Director for Herts & Cambs and Suffolk who in turn reports to the Managing Director for Herts & Cambs and Suffolk. To provide professional Accounts & advisory support for the relevant business unit. In this busy and varied role you will work with the Finance Director to provide a first class Finance service to circa. 300 employees based at a number of sites throughout the Suffolk region. Business Analysis • Use in-house systems to produce timely and accurate weekly and monthly results incorporating a detailed analysis and understanding of the components of revenue and expenditure. • To accurately reconcile those areas of the balance sheet for which we have responsibility. To prepare the monthly profit and loss accounts down to individual publication and cost centre level. • To prepare and maintain weekly KPI reports for Suffolk and communicate these results weekly to the senior management team. • To prepare the monthly commentary report relating to Suffolk performance. • To prepare other regular and ad hoc reports for Suffolk as required by the Finance Director and other members of the senior management team. • To report to members of the senior management team on a monthly basis and discuss performance in their respective area of the business. • To take responsibility for the analysis and preparation of costs and revenues during the business plan and forecasting cycles. • Constantly re-appraise the month end process with a view to shortening wherever possible.

Decision Support • To provide information to members of the Suffolk senior management team on which future decisions can be made. • To guide, advise and support the senior management team to enable them to effectively manage their budgets and make strategic business decisions. • To model and rigorously assess the costs and benefits of new investments and strategic decisions. • To provide risk analysis to support strategic business decisions. • To formulate strategies to drive business performance. • To assist the Finance Director with the implementation of strategic projects and play a pivotal role in their delivery against plan. Other § To ensure compliance with the Archant finance manual at all times. § To ensure that all future expenditure, including capital spend is within budgeted limits and where it is not to take effective action to obtain necessary explanations and if necessary produce a business case to support the decision This is a description of the job as it is presently constructed. COMMUNICATION AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Working as a key member of the Finance department you will be expected to work closely with the Finance Director and other line managers and to build and maintain good relationships with other key departments such as AAS and HR. Working within this small and busy Finance department requires you to confidently manage conflicting priorities and work under pressure to meet monthly deadlines.
