PURPOSE To support and facilitate the work of Fleming House Approved Premises in the provision of a safe and secure environment for residents and staff, taking into account the diverse needs of relevant offender groups and assist in the delivery of a structured regime, including resettlement needs and enforcement of Court Orders, Licences and hostel rules. The post holder will be required to work to an agreed Rota, including evening, nights and weekends. 4. DUTIES 4.1 Maintain a visible presence throughout the period on duty, being available for routine queries from residents, staff and external agencies. Assist in the delivery of a structured regime which facilitates the provision of enhanced supervision and monitoring of high risk offenders. Identify those residents needing monitoring and surveillance following local and national procedures; document work undertaken and feedback to offender manager. Actively encourage residents to keep to Approved Premises Rules and Licence conditions, monitor their compliance and take fair and appropriate enforcement action if they fail to comply To establish and maintain effective liaison with colleagues; offender managers; Public Protection Unit; Police and other agencies to monitor and review progress and ensure all relevant parties are aware of key risk factors and are notified immediately of any significant changes. In line with Fleming House Policies, undertake inspections of the premises, including external grounds and, where necessary, take action in respect of any occurrences, damages or defects that may have an effect on the safety and/or security of the premises and its occupants. Input and retrieve electronic data and risk information on individual residents and maintain computer based information systems in an accurate and timely manner. Ensure the premises are locked and secure at curfew, confirming all residents are present and alert the standby officer when enforcement action has to be taken or there are any other matters of serious concern. Demonstrate and promote pro social modelling skills by consistently reinforcing pro social behaviour and attitudes and by challenging those which are anti social. Undertake the induction of new residents in ways that ensures their familiarity of the environment and understanding of hostel rules and policies. Carry out drug and alcohol testing of residents in line with local policies. Deal with any visitors or telephone calls, recording contact as required Assist in searches of residents’ rooms, having full regard for practice procedures, respect for the resident’s rights and securing the integrity and legal admissibility of any material evidence discovered. To undertake general duties in the hostel as required. To attend and participate in team development activities and relevant training courses in order to keep up to date with current practice.
