2009 Summer Build Schedule for Single Family Home on Spruce Street in Cloquet, MN
Column definitions:
Project Day - We generally host large Volunteer Groups on Saturdays, skilled individuals and small groups may work during the week. Check our website at www.habitatduluth.org for details or contact us at (218) 722-3875. By Whom – “OPEN” designates an opportunity for your church or group to participate! Number of Skilled Crew Leaders Needed – Crew leaders are skilled volunteers that can teach and lead a small group of willing, but perhaps inexperienced volunteers, through the construction tasks for the day. The numbers provided in this schedule are examples, check with the Construction Supervisor for details (218) 722-3875. Number of Volunteers Needed – These are the eager volunteers from all walks of life that will come to the build site to put their faith into action by swinging hammers, painting, hanging siding, etc. While some of these volunteers might have some construction experience, none is required. Our insurance limits youth under 15 from the construction site. The numbers provided in this schedule are examples, check with the Construction Supervisor for details (218) 722-3875. Meals Needed – At most Habitat work sites, lunch and/or breakfast is provided as a way to offer hospitality to the volunteers and create an opportunity for fellowship. This is a wonderful way to mobilize volunteers unable to help with construction. “OPEN” designates an opportunity for your church or
group to participate!
Devotion Leaders – One of Habitat for Humanity’s foundational principals is that we were established and operate to build houses as a witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ. One means of maintaining our Christian focus is to start the build days with prayer and reflection. This is a fantastic opportunity to mobilize local pastors and lay leaders to provide short messages. “OPEN” designates an opportunity for your church or group to participate! *This Schedule is subject to change due to weather, local government, and acts of God. We will make every attempt to host your group on the Project Day you have designated though the task may change. The Project Coordinator will update you one week prior to your Project Day. Western Lake Superior Habitat for Humanity looks forward to partnering with local Lutherans to provide safe, decent shelter for God’s people this summer!
