It is indeed an honor to be the President of the club for fiscal year 2004-2005. First of all, I wish to thank all my Board of Directors, the Lions, and Leos for your unfailing support and cooperation rendered to me. I would like to thank __________, __________ who had been constantly giving me their guidance and advice. With their assistance, my duties and responsibilities as the President of the club, has been enlightened and made easier. Not to forget too, my Secretary Lion Chai Si Kar and my Treasurer Lion Heng Mui Kee, they had done an excellent job in their respective duties. To District Governor Tan Soh Har, Vice District Governor John Ho and Cabinet Officers, I would like to thank them too for their guidance. To fellow Lions in Sarawak, especially Region 1 in Kuching; Lions in Singapore, Taiwan, and Johor Bahru, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to them as well for the friendship that has being bestowed to our club.
I would like to thank my husband and members of my family for their tolerance on my regular absence from home. Without their support, patience and understanding, I will never be able to accomplish this assignment as the President of the Club.

ROJECTS ACHIEVED IN FISCAL YEAR 2004 – 2005 实现计划
1.1 AWARDS Like other Lions Clubs, we made plans and put up projects & activities proposals to be carried out as early as June 2004. The project and activities proposal plans were completed before the handing over of the leadership to me in July 2004. During fiscal year 2004/2005, we have done remarkably well achieving the following awards:1. District 308-A2 Top Club Award 2. District 308-A2 Club Extension Award 3. District Governor Club Extension Award, DC Chong Nam Fah 4. District 308-A2 Outstanding President Award, President Lam Lee Sar 5. District 308-A2 Outstanding Secretary Award, Secretary Chai Si Kar 6. District 308-A2 Outstanding Treasurer Award, Treasurer Heng Mui Kee 7. District Fellow, President Lam Lee Sar 8. International President – Share Success Through Service Banner Patch Award – Lion Ang Choiu Siang – Organizing Chair for Children Coloring Content 2004 1.2 MAJOR FUND RAISING PROJECT 筹款活动 – FILM PREMIER SHOW There are a few significant projects carried out by out Club in year 2004/05. Categorically, we has raised RM 8,150.00 in a film premier show in 2 Oct 2004 and the net profit was RM 6,838.00
1.3 Sponsored students for SPM exam fees Our club had sponsored 23 students for their SPM examination fees for year 2006. The total amount donated towards this project is RM4140. These students are from two secondary schools namely SMK Sungai Tapang (8 Students) and SMK Penrissen (15 students). Thanks to all the donors from Ln Lau Kim Yang, Ln Lam Lee Sar, Ln Lee Shiuh Yeh, Ln Chong Nam Fah, Ln Chua Lee Huang, Ln Yeo Kim Bak, Ln Ho Boon Siew, Stella Lam and Leon Lam.

1.4 The 11th Chartered Anniversary 创会周年纪念 In 1 April 2004, our club had successfully organized celebration of 11th Chartered Anniversary in conjunction with Charter Nite for Lions Club of Kuching Hornbill
1.5 11th Anniversary Twinning Celebration 庆祝三结盟姐妹会第十一周年庆典 The 10th – Anniversary Twinning
Celebration was carried out in Johor Kukup Resort in concurrence with the 43rd MD Lions Convention at Melaka. We are pleased that Lions Club of J.B. Taman Century host the BBQ Dinner. 1.6 President Lam Lee Sar’s contributed to Melvin Jones Fellowships December 2004 – Our club President Lam Lee Sar had contributed USD1000 to Melvin Jones Fellowships 茂文鍾 士會員 1.7 Club Extension – Chartered New Club – Lions Club of Kuching Hornbill On 12 March 2005 – Our club had successfully chartered the first new club in District 308-A2, the new club is name as Lions Club of Kuching Hornbill 古晉犀鳥獅子會 with the 25 Charted Members which leaded by Charted President – Donald Lim. Two Guiding Lions (Lion Chong Nam Fah and Lion Chua Lee Hua) from our club had been appointed by District Governor.

2.1 Taiwan Sister Club – Cash Donation to Kuching Blind Center 台湾新埔狮子会访问盲人协会,也联合捐赠一千元马币予该协会 On 24 July 05, A group of Taiwan sister club‟s members (District 300G-1 Lions Club of Hsin-Pu) attending our club‟s Board of Director handover ceremony. In conjunction with it, they do visited Kuching Blind Center and had donated Ringgit Malaysia 1,000 to the center.
2.2 Club Donation to Sarawak Society for the Blind On Oct 2004 – A fire at a centre for the blind caused a major panic among the inmates but all 17 of them were brought out of the building safely. Region 1 Lions Club had been jointed together given a donation to Sarawak Society for the Blind. Total of Ringgit Malaysia 1,800 had been raised.
2.3 Region 1 Sight First Relay 2005 Lions Sight First Relay 2005 convoy arrived 18 at March Kuching 2005 from
Tawau, Sabah with Ringgit Malaysia 18,600 raised during the seven day expedition for it Sight Conservation Projects. Through out the trip, some of the towns visited were Sandakan, Ranau, Kudat, Kota Belud, Kota Kinabalu, Beaufort, Lawas, Limbang, Kuala Belait, Miri, Bintulu, Mukah, Sibu and Sarikei with some 500 Lions under the district met with us and participated in the community projects. Our club members had jointed the group from trip Serian to Kuching.

OUTH SERVICES 獅子會青少年服
3.1 Kuching Festival 2004 – Children Color Competition Project 儿童填色比 赛 Lions Club of Stampin-Pending Kuching, Sekama Community Association, K.R.T Sekama and Three Hills Park are organized a Children Coloring Contest on 29th of August 2004 (Sunday) from 8.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon at the foyer of Majlis Bandaraya Kuching Selatan (MBKS). The contest is jointly held in conjunction with Kuching Festival 2004. The objectives are aimed in promoting children‟s interest in the art of drawing, their creativity in coloring, to search for the talents in drawing and to enhance closer ties among children in addition Dr. William Voon, our Lions Clubs International 308-A2 Past District Governor will give 1 hr Children Health Talk to all the participants. The event also to intensify the festivities of the celebration of Kuching Festival and the Council of Kuching City South and permission given from the Education Department of Sarawak to encourage students to participate in this event. The contest is divided into three categories, i.e. (A) Kindergarten Category for children aged between four to six years old; (B) Lower Primary School Category for children from Primary One to Primary Three and (C) Upper Primary School Category for children from Primary Four to Primary Six.

3.2 Leo Club SMK SAS Cameron Highlands visit Kuching & Lodge School End of Oct 2004, A number of Leo from Leo Club of SMK SAS Cameron Highlands leaded by their sponsoring Club Lions from Lions Club of Cameron Highlands visited Kuching city and Lodge School Leo Club. Our Club President had been hosted one welcome lunch to all. 3.3 Youth Exchange 獅子會青少年交換活動 The Youth Exchange programme organized by District Chair Youth Exchange/Youth for Region 1

On the other hand, some of our club members, including myself had hosted youths from Japan for few days home stay in Kuching together with some visiting around the city. 3.4 Motivational Talk by Professor Dr. Morni Kambrie to Leo in Region 1 On September 2004 – Lions Club of

Bumiputera Sarawak (DUBS) Kuching Branch organized one motivational talk
by invited speaker Professor Dr. Morni Kambrie to all the secondary school student. The topic of the Talk is “Success Does Not Come Easy” / “Kejayaan Tidak Datang Bergolek” There are total of 124 students from 11 schools participant in this event. 3.5 Peace Poster Contest 2004 國際獅子會和平海報比賽 Our club had been successfully organized the Peace Poster Contest 2004 on 30 Sep 2004 by Chair Person Lion Jospehine Li. Initially this was supposed to be a regional project. Meeting among various clubs were held but due to time constrain, it was concluded to quote „do it the simple way‟. Our Club

approached 5 schools, namely Chung Hua Primary School No.5, Stampin, Sungai Apong and Kenyalang for this project this year. We collected the posters from them and they were judged by the renowned artist Mr. Lam Siong Onn & our club
President. Finalists and 5 consolation prizes were selected. The no.1 poster representing our club‟s entry has been
submitted to Regional Chairman Ln Patrick for the next round of competition.

4.1 Welcome our sister club – Lions Club of Hsin-Pu, Taiwan 台湾新竹新埔国际狮子会 On 21 July 2004 – Our Taiwan Sister Club – Lions Club of Hsin-Pu leaded by 300G Past District Governor Lion Tsai, together with their Club President & spouse and one member, all the way come from Taiwan to attend our club handover Board of Director Fiscal Year 200304 to Board of Director fiscal year 2004-05. On the same time, we also organized few visiting around Kuching city together with Youth Exchange from Japan and also one joint project to the local community. 4.2 Lions Worldwide Induction Day 獅子會全球入會儀式日 In conjunction with Lions Worldwide Induction Day – 16 April 2005, our club had successfully inducted three new Lion members on that month. There are Moh Chin Kiat, Lion ID # 2335071 and Sim Poi Luan, Lion ID # 2335081 sponsored by our Club President Lion Lam Lee Sar. Kelly Tan, Lion ID # 2335082 sponsored by Lion Chong Nam Fah 4.3 Fellowship with Sister Club – Johor 新 山 世 纪 花 园 狮 子 会 In concurrent with attended the 43rd Multi District Lions Convention in Melaka, our club had went trough a great fellowship together with our sister club – Lions Club of Taman Century, Johor. On the trip from Johor Airport to Lions Convention, Melaka. Beside that both clubs also organized one local community project at Johor.

5.1 Food Collection to Lions Nursing Home’s Resident On 8 Aug 2004, 7.00 AM Food Collection Project organized by Kapitan Lion Poh Sze Hang and with help with our Club Lion members and Leo from SMK Sungai Tapang and SMK Bandar Kuching No.1. We had taken about 3 hours in the Kenyalang Park Market and visited each store request the food donation by volunteer. In this project, we got a great response from the store owner and successfully collected some vegetables, fish, chicken, dry food and cash from public. We delivered all the food collected to our Lions Nursing Home and received by LNH‟s Matron. 5.2 Road Maintenance at Lorong 21 Upper Chawan Road 捐碎石供修路 Road Maintenance - This is one of our club annual community‟s projects to give some things back to the society. This year, we are selected Lorong 21 Upper Chawan Road to do this projects. Our club supply the stone by getting the sponsor from public. Beside that number of club members and number of the residents from local association‟s members come together to working together to do the road maintenance. 5.3 Celebration Moon Cake Festival with Lions Nursing Home’s Resident In conjunction with Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, most commonly known as Moon Cake Festival. Each year our club will organize Festival Celebration in Lions Nursing Home together with the resident and staff there. This is already because our annually club activity to server back to community. This year, Organizing Chair Person Lion May Sim organized this event together with our hosting Leos Clubs on 26 September 2004 - 4.00PM which is also near to the dinner time for all the residents in Lions Nursing Home.

5.4 ‘Awakening of Qin Shi Huangdi’s Terra-Cotta Army and Sichuan Art Performance’ to Children’s Home Kuching 请孤儿参观秦俑 Our club joint together with event organizer (TCL 展览与 文 化 传 播 私 人 有 限 公 司 ) had sponsored a group of children from Children Home Kuching to attend “Awakening of Qin Shi Huangdi‟s Terra-Cotta Army and Sichuan Art Performance” on 12 Nov 2005 held at SM Chuang Hua No.1
5.5 Yu Nam Shan Tang -云 南 善 堂 献 爱 心 Beginning of the year 2005, our club had been hosted a lunch which is sponsored by our PP Lion Lu to all the Yu Nam Shan Tang‟s Resident, together by given the Ang Pau contributed by number of Lions and Essence of Chicken Products which is sponsored our donor. 5.6 Visit & Cash Donation to Johore Cheshire Home & Pusat Pemulihan Dalam Komuniti (PDK) D.U.N. Kempas, Negeri Johor On 3 April 05 - In conjunction with 43rd MD 308 Lions Convention, our club members and Kuching Hornbill key officers arrival at Negeri Johor to join with our sister club at Johor (Lions Club of Taman Century) to carry the charity visiting project to Johore Cheshire Home & Pusat Pemulihan Dalam Komuniti (PDK) D.U.N. Kempas, Negeri Johor.

OINT PROJECTS WITH OTHER LIONS CLUBS 合办计划
There are quite a number of joint projects carried out with other Lions Clubs. 6.1 Region 1 Leo Clubs Orientation & Seminar Beginning of July 04 – Region 1 Leo Clubs Orientation & Seminar had successfully organized with great response from all the region 1 Leo held at SUPP Hall. 6.2 World Lions Services Day In conjunction with World Lions Services Day Lions Clubs International, Region 1 of Lions Clubs had been organized the Lions Services Day on Sunday, 10 October 2004 held at Dewan Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abang Ikhwan Zaini, Asajaya, Kota Samarahan, Sarawak, Malaysia. This is joint project between 12 Lions Clubs in Region 1. There are total of six services had been conducted during the day and incharged by each club which presented, which is Dental Check-Up, Deworming Tablets, Health
Screening, Environmental Project, Education Project and Vision Screening.

6.4 Region 1 Lions Family Day This year our Region 1 Lions Family Day organized by our Zone 1 Chair Sheila Kho held at MBKS Indoor Stadium on 20 February 2005 – 7:30AM – 12:00 Noon. The Lunch had hosted at Lok Thian Restaurant. There are total of 50-60 persons participated in this family day. 6.5 Region 1 Environmental Awareness Day In line with LCI‟s emphasis on its “Environment” programme, Region 1 Lions Club of Kuching, Serian, Bau and Kota Samarahan organized an “Environment Awareness Day” held at St. Thomas School Hall. Leo and their Kelab Alam Sekitar from 8 respective schools had participated in the Environmental Awareness Exhibition with the theme “What Man Has Caused, He Can Cure” 6.6 Region 1 Telethon Our club together with Region 1 Club joint together organized the Region 1 Telethon held at Sarawak Tourist Complex. Our club members had participated in the show event by doing the Traditional Chinese Opera show. 6.7 Region 1 Lions Leadership Seminar & Workshop – Camp Permai 27 March 2005 (Sunday) – A group of Lion members and Friend of Lions from Region 1 assembler at Permai Rainforest Resort, Santubong to attend the Region 1 Lions Leadership Seminar & Workshop which is organized by our club President Lion Lam Lee Sar, DC Leadership Mike Lim and Lion Cecil Adenan 6.8 43rd Multi District 308 Lions Convention 43rd Multi District 308 Lions Convention had successfully organized on 14 – 17 April 2005 held at Malacca Malaysia. There are total of 13 members and 3 sponsoring club members from Lions Club of Hornbill had participated.

First of all, I wish to thank the President Lion Lam Lee Sar for having confidence on me to be her secretary for year 2004-2005. To the Board of Director, Lions and Leos of our Club, I wish to express my sincere thanks to your support and cooperation for working together as a team which enables our Club accomplishing all the planned projects.
Beside that I also want to take this opportunity to express my especially thank to District Governor Lion Tan Soh Har and District Cabinet Secretary Lion Sheila Adenan for given me a lot of guidance during my fiscal year.
Lastly, I would like to thank my parent and my girl friend for their patience, support and understanding by allow me to carry out this duty as the club secretary in this fiscal year 2004-2005.

LUB ADMINISTRATION & MEMBERSHIP
7.1 Membership As up to the 31 June 2005, there are total of 31 members in our club and all of them are registered in Lions Club International Membership Monthly Report. There are three new members inducted on April 05 which are Moh Chin Kiat, LCI# 2335071 and Sim Poi Luan, LCI# 2335081 sponsored by our Club President Lion Lam Lee Sar. Kelly Tan, LCI# 2335082 sponsored by Lion Chong Nam Fah. However there is one resignation from Lion Chan Chiaw Yam LCI# 881670 on June 05. The only member at large is Lion Francis Tan who works in KL, nevertheless he settled all his membership due and he did joint us on 43 rd MD Lions Convention at Malacca. Lion Chai Lee Phin who has asked for a one year-leave during year 2004 for her study at KL had been come back to joined us on April 2005.
7.2 Meetings and Venues Throughout the year 2004-2005, there were 12 Board of Director and General Meetings. Most of these meetings were held at Penrissen Inn‟s meeting room, with exception, there were 2 Board of Directors and General Meetings held at Sarawak Club‟s Restaurant. In additional, there are numerous discussions was conducted to sort out some urgent matters.
7.3 Attendance The attendance of the Board of Directors and General Meeting during the fiscal year 2004-2005 is satisfactory. It recorded with more than 55% attendance of the BODs. The Leos attendance as a whole is satisfactory, except that occasionally their activities and reports were not submitted. Transporting Leos, to-and-fro the venue of he meeting is sometimes, could be problematic as they are diverted at different locations. This has resulted in instances that Leos were totally not represented in the monthly meeting.

7.4 Change of ROS Registered Address The Registrar of Society (ROS) of the Federal Department, Sarawak registered had changed to Lions Nursing Home Kuching Address. By virtue of this changed, the official and correspondence address is now registered at Lions Nursing Home‟s address at:

7.5 Signatory of Bank Account Currently, EON Bank has been registered as the Club‟s business transation bank. The Meeting resolved that any two of the three incoming key officers, namely the President Lion LAM LEE SAR, Secretary Lion CHAI SI KAR and Treasurer Lion HENG MUI KEE, shall sign cheques and all banking documents of the Club‟s bank accounts.
