Objective

    1) To put the theory into practical for what we have learn from air pollution control

    2) To know the method of air pollution control and the measurement of air pollution control

    3)   To know the air pollutant and their effects to human health

Introduction

        Master Jaya Environmental Sdn Bhd is a total turnkey solution provider for industrial air
pollution control system since 1983. It is proven for its technical experience and has successful track
records in industrial air pollution control, also in all process and manufacturing industries. The
Master Jaya Environmental Sdn. Bhd with its brand “Airboss” has acquired ISO 9001: 2001 in 5th
March 2004.




Health Effect Factor

To identify what health effect that can affect human health. Several factors must be considered

    1) What pollutant is in the sample area?

    2) How many concentration of the pollutant in the sample area?

    3) What is the length of exposure?

    4) Is there any other pollutant in the sample area?

The air pollution industrial come from 3 ways

    1) Mechanical Process

    -   Example : Construction

    2) Thermal Process

    -   Example : Incineration, Coal Burning

    3) Chemical Process

    -   Example : Chemical Industries



The Efficient System of Air Pollution Control

In order to make the efficient system of air pollution control, these conditions must be followed.

    1) Equipment run smoothly

    2) Optimum suction

    3) No dust choking duct

    4) No clog blocking air pollution control equipment

    5) Low maintenance cost



Gas, Odour, Vapour Control System

For the gas, odour, vapour control system, these are the equipment that the company has suggested

    1) Gas Scrubber

The Measurement of Air Pollution Control

For the measurement of air pollution control in industrial, this company has done the isokinetic
method. This method is done by placing the equipment at the some point in the chimney (Point A
and Point B) to ensure that the air is clean before it is allowed to be released. The measurement of
air pollutant is using the rules and regulations from EQA 1974.

Discussion

         In order to know about air pollution control, several factors and conditions must be
followed. For example, the health effect factor, the effect of the air pollutants, how the air pollution
from industries come, the efficiency of the system and how to distinguish the right equipments for
air pollution control.

        Air pollution is the introduction of chemicals, particulate matter, or biological materials that
cause harm or discomfort to humans or other living organisms, or damages the natural environment,
into the atmosphere meanwhile air-pollution control is a practical means of treating polluting
sources to maintain a desired degree of air cleanliness.

        Air pollution control includes the identification and the solution from the source to the
receiver. The Master Jaya Environmental Sdn. Bhd. is a great example of the turnkey of air pollution
control as it identify the problem and design before making the equipment for the solution itself
meanwhile still maintaining the efficiency from all aspect (effect to human and environment, cost
and other factor).

Conclusion

        The visit has opened the eyes and wide the perspectives of all participants about air
pollution control as it put the knowledge from the theory to practical. As the objectives for this
experiment are achieved, the visit has successfully made the participants understand about air
pollution control.
