wearing a black hat and suit and white tie (fashion of the times for Italians)

3. Paul LaPella, remembers letters being sent from Louisa's mother in Italy
to the family.
Paul thinks she came to the US when she was about 18-20. Before she was
married.
Paul thinks they met in Minersville, PA. They were very poor. She was a
homemaker. They didn't travel at all.
Her favorite thing to cook was spaghetti. They had it 'until it was coming
out of their ears'...per Paul LaPella.
They had calamari (squid) and frog legs.
Louisa worked in a cigar factory and a shirt factory for awhile.
4. Charles (Shake) remembers 2003: "Mom was a loving person. I think
I was her Pet."
5. Mar 2008: Received an email from Jules DeLuzio. "My name is Jules
DeLuzio and my father was Charles Deluzio who was raised by Mrs. Louisa
LaPella of 51 E Spruce Street in Norristown PA. We affectionately called
Mrs. LaPella, Grandmom as she was the only mother my father ever knew.
"
I don’t recall ever meeting Paul LaPella, but my family knew the other
LaPella sons, Jimmy, Tom and Charles (Shake) and the daughter Mary.
My dad was 56 years old when he passed on Nov 1, 1996 of cancer and even
though he loved Louise like a mother and was eternally grateful to her for
raising him he always wondered who his birth mother was.
I think it would be nice to note in your family tree that Louisa raised a “son”
named Charles DeLuzio as her own and provided for him and educated him
the best that she could.
I was only 7 years old when she passed but I remember how sad I was that I
would never see her again. I enjoyed going to her house on Sundays after
Church and she would have coffee and cookies. I visit her grave when I can
and occasionally bring flowers.

Camillo was a miner. He worked in construction.

Camillo's first job in the coal mines was in Minersville, Pennsylvania. This

the whole basement with wine barrels...about 24.

"Yes you are correct. Barbara is mothers middle name. I have in
fact visited "The Rock" in the mts. near Pescara. Where Many were
born. The house actually has the name carved above the door on the
stone house. Interesting WWII history also, when all the men left
for Santo Spirito a cave like place that was inhabited by monks in
the 1100's I believe. They went there to escape the Nazi's who were
coming to take the men away. Some of Camilo's brothers came to
US and went back home, some of the family went to Ontario, and
some to Argentina. He knows a lot of the history of the

Notes for Paul LaPella:
2002: Information from Paul LaPella himself.
Paul was born in Pennsylvania. He has no middle name.

In Norristown, Pennsylvania he started as a shoe shine boy, then as a
newspaper peddler. He went to barber school and became a barber.
At age 28 he moved to New York City and hired out as a yacht sailor. From
there he went to Miami, Florida and washed dishes in a car hop joint. (a fast
food place). In 1939 he moved to Chicago. The war was getting hot in
Europe. He tried to join the Navy, but they didn't like the looks of his feet.
He worked in a hamburger joint at Lincoln Park. Then he worked in a drug
store. Paul met a man that was real good to him and got him into an engineer
union. He worked for the Maryland Hotel, then the Sawyer Biscuit
Company. Paul met Stella and got married in 1946. He spent about 6 years
at the Covenant Club doing engineer work. After that he went to work for a
laundry called the Flat Iron Laundry. Along in here, Arthur and Dennis were
born in Chicago. Then Paul & Stella decided to relocate. They moved to
Everett, WA, where Stella was born, and her family still lived. Paul bought a
share of an Everett co-op. From there, about 1961, he got a job at the
Boeing Co. At Boeing he was a jack of all trades. He started at various jobs,
the paint booth, then finally plumbing. Around 1981, Stella started
developing Alzheimer's Disease. She died in September 1993. Paul took
care of her in their house in Everett.
He enjoyed watching wrestling on TV. He used to sing in the church choir
and he loved to listen to classical music. He liked to study Italian and
French.
In 1993 Paul & Stella moved to Auburn with his son when he got married.
Art, Kathy & Paul visited his son Dennis in Maui HI, 1994.
He lived with Art, Kathy, Sam and Anna LaPella until he passed away. He
loved to take pictures of the kids and to give them horse rides on his legs.
He would have tea parties with his grand daughter, Anna. He also let the
kids watch his TV, just until the wrestling came on.

Notes for Stella Henrietta Tastad:
2003: From Paul, she loved to work with children, at their Lutheran church
and the elementary school.

                   Notes for Dennis Walter LaPella:

visited Hawaii and liked it so much, he decided to stay. He lives
                   somewhere near Hanalei, Kauai, HI
Oct 2006: Paul, Stella Tastad LaPella and Dennis LaPella Email
                   received from Ted Johnson
I received an e-mail from George Danas asking if I could send you
guys some memories of the family. Paul was allways going into his
bedroom and coming out with some kind of power tool that Dennis
or I needed to work on our cars. Paul was the master of all crafts to
us teenagers a fountain of knowledge about all things to do with
vehicles.Since he worked the graveyard shift he was around in the
afternoons to advise us sometimes over one of his delicous salami
sandwiches. I also remember how proud Stella was when she passed
her G.E.D. she worked very hard on that as I remember. As for times
at church Stella was always "Stella Lapella Stella Lapella" to all of
us grade schoolers at Sunday school. I think she ran the program for
a few years and that flaming red hair was always on a mission it
seemed. Dennis and I shared a love for sports cars and racing we
went to many local races and also made 2 trips to California to see
the Long Beach Grand Prix. I also have not seen Dennis
since I believe 1991 And think about how he's doing a lot. I hope
this e-mail is of some use to you as I always enjoy thinking of the
time I spent with the Lapella's in my formative years. Ted
                   Johnson
George Danas and Ted Johnson were friends of Dennis LaPella in
                   Everett.

2. In JUNE 1989 issue of AIRPRO MARY TREISBACH (retired??) By
Eugene Sidoroff
There is little time for relaxation in the life of active retiree Mary Treisbach.
Mary joined Air Products in 1974 when Chemical Groups Houdry division
was based in King of Prussia, PA. Her first assignment was in Mickey
Marinchaks accounting group. She was one of the 300 people who moved
to Trexlertown in 1976. Her last assignment was as a secretary in PSG
Engineering.

Mother of four, grandmother of four, parachutist, balloonist, past Eastern
Star matron, donor of 25 hours of word processing time per week to her
church, grocery packer at the food bank for the needy, tour director for her
senior citizens group, regular member of the fitness center, occupy part of
the time of this dynamic retiree.
Mary and husband Harry have enjoyed trips to Europe and another to Nova
Scotia. They also attend regular reunions with Harry's World War II 3616th
Quartermaster Truck company. In addition they find time to bowl and golf.
Your reporter was exhausted after merely writing down this list of Mary's
ongoing actiivities. Given their current busy lifestyle, it is impressive to
note that both Mary and Harry overcame strokes more than a decade ago and
have been able to enjoy an active life together.
One leaves this inspiring fellow retiree with wonder and respect for her love
of life and service to her fellow man. No "couch potato" here!
3. From Mary March 2003: My brothers didn't have a middle name, except
Shake. I don't know where the word "Spring" came from, but I heard it. My
birth certificate says "Louisa Lapella". My mother's name was Louisa, &
she would get mixed up, so started calling me "Mary", & it stuck. None of
us had a middle name. I always went by "Mary Louisa LaPella."
