									            INTERNATIONAL MILITARY TATTOO ITINERARY
                                              June 30 – July 4, 2009

Day 1 June 30 Saint John
Our wonderful adventure to the Nova Scotia International Tattoo in Halifax, NS starts with our morning departure and
heading north into Canada. There will be a coffee stop this morning and a lunch stop in Calais, Maine before crossing
the border. On our travel between Bangor, Maine and Calais, Maine you will enjoy some beautiful, mountainous
scenery and view some of the largest blueberry fields in the country. Late afternoon brings us into Saint John, New
Brunswick and check in at the beautiful Saint John Hilton Hotel on the Harbor. There will be time to freshen up
before our included dinner at the hotel with the remainder of the evening to relax and get ready for the adventures
that lie ahead starting tomorrow. There is a great boardwalk surrounding the hotel if you would like to take a stroll
and help digest a great dinner before settling in for the night.

Day 2 July 1 Halifax"International Military Tattoo Show & Dinner"
Our day starts with a bountiful buffet breakfast at the hotel followed by check out and departure to Halifax. On
the way we will visit Hopewell Rocks National Park where the highest tides in the world exist. Be awestruck by the
“Flower Pot Rocks”, 50-60 foot high sandstone pillars molded by the tides and each topped with trees and fauna which
resemble tall “Flower Pots”. Visit the interesting museum to learn more about this fascinating area. You will have
lunch on your own in the cafeteria and then it’s on to Halifax and check in at the beautiful, new Marriott Courtyard at
the waterfront. Early this evening we enjoy an informative Backstage Tour of the International Tattoo and then a pre-
Tattoo dinner complete with musical entertainment during dinner. Following dinner we will be ‘piped’ to our seats by
a “Scottish Piper”. Get ready for the most spectacular production that you will ever have experienced, one that you
will be talking about for a long time to come.

Day 3 July 2 Halifax "Titanic" "Peggy's Cove"
Breakfast starts our day before our visit to “Pier 21” which is Canada’s answer to our Ellis Island. This depicts the
early immigration into Canada as well as the arrival of all the War Brides and children, highlighting the many hard-
ships that they endured. All of this is presented through multi-media presentations as well as many fine exhibits.
Peggy’s Cove is next on the list. Visit the most rock-bound area on the eastern seaboard which boasts the only light-
house in the world with a Post Office within. Lunch will be on own at the ‘Souwester” restaurant in the Cove. We are
sure you will not miss their vast gift shop! On arrival back in Halifax, a local guide will join us for a most interesting
tour of the city with a visit to the cemetery where many of the victims of the “Titanic” are buried. You will learn
about the great Halifax Explosion and why Halifax sends a magnificent Christmas Tree to Prudential Center in Boston
every year. Dinner is on own this evening and then you may wish to do some shopping at the “Historic Properties”
on the waterfront which boasts many unique shops or possibly visit the Casino which is just a short distance from the
hotel.

Day 4 July 3 Saint John "Magnetic Hill"
Breakfast at the hotel and check out and depart for Saint John. On the way we will visit Grand Pre’ National Historic
Site where you will learn about Acadian life and their exile from the country and where many of them settled. The
state of Maine and New Hampshire received many of these people and the largest amount of them continued on
to Louisiana and eventually became known as the “Cajuns”. We continue on to “Magnetic Hill” to experience this
phenomenom. The driver will put the coach in neutral at the bottom of the hill and it will ascend back up the hill
at approximately 35 miles per hour. After your “magnetic experience”, at the Hill it’s lunch on own and shopping at
“Wharf Village”. Your final opportunity to get those gifts or souvenirs that you passed up along the way. Later, check
in once more at the Saint John Hilton Hotel and then a enjoy the evening in on your own. Enjoy Dinner near or at the
Hotel on your own & enjoy the city.
