Friday Afternoons @ Term 2, 2009 For kids from Grade 1 to Grade 6 Term 2 Grades 1 & 2 Everyone’s different but we’re all the same 24th April Yes, Sir! Tomorrow’s Anzac Day so let’s celebrate the men & women who keep us safe. Army/Navy/Air Force themed games & activities - heaps of fun. Wear your army gear if you want. Cost $3 1st May Old Style Family Picnic Take a step back in time to when Peter was a boy and join in all the fun of the Old Fashioned Family Picnic. There’ll be sack races, 3-legged races, gumboot throwing, pancakes & ice cream and maybe even birthday cake (it’s Kim’s birthday, but don’t tell anyone, okay?) Cost $3 8th May Thank you, Mums! Tonight we celebrate our Mums by making her a present for Mother’s Day, as well as all the normal fun we do. Mums, we invite you to join us at 5:30 sharp for coffee, cake on us & relaxation in the café, while we take all the kids for a treasure hunt, video & ice creams. Come & make the most of this 30 minutes of rest. No charge for the coffee & cake. Cost $3 15th May Sport-mad Sport, sport, sport! Balls, sticks, skis - you might need all of these tonight. Come prepared for lots of fun. Maybe even try some weird & wacky sports you haven’t tried before. It’s a long weekend so we’re having a break. 12th June I am special It’s time to show us what you’re good at. Bring something to show us or just tell us about you: something you like doing, something you’ve made, a medal or trophy you’ve won. Everyone is good at something, and we’re all different. Cost $3 19th June Volunteers What do people do for us? How can we help? What can we do? You’re never to young to help someone out & to say thank you to those who help you just because they want to. Cost $3 26th June Flicks & Chips It’s movie time again! And that means drinks, hot chips, relaxing and enjoying the time together. Cost $3 15th May Late Stay/Roller Skating Good old Aussie backyard sports - come play cricket, football, basketball or any of the other backyard favourites then stop the action for a good old sausage sizzle & ice cream before heading off to rollerskating. Kiosk available at stadium and roller skating. Starts normal time but back at 8:15 to fit this all in. Parent permission form needed. Cost $10 includes skate hire or to get the best fit bring your own. Bus leaves for Roller skating at 5:30, back by 8:15. 22nd May Cartoon Capers Tonight we have an amazing cartoonist coming to run a cartooning workshop (can’t wait!). This will be heaps of fun as you learn how to cartoon your friends, family, whoever! So if you are a boy or a girl this night is definitely for you. Cost $3 5th June Sorry—no Roar Energy tonight. It’s a long weekend so enjoy it! 12th June Who Dares, Wins Are you up for it? This night is always a big hit for those who like things slightly different. Can you take the challenge, or cheer on your friends? Cost $3 19th June Disco First one for the year, and it’s going to be huge! Disco, dancing, karaoke, competitions and heaps more. Starts 4:30, finishes 7:30. Hot dog & ice cream included for dinner. Other food for sale. Free glow stick on entry. And of course the GIANT CHOCOLATE CHUCK to finish off the night. Cost $5 26th June Are you up for The Challenge? If you love fun and love competing in team events, this is the night for you as we put team against team. Cost $3 For Grade 6 only Every 2nd Friday night, 7-9pm In the Oxley Stadium Contact: Peter Harris 0409 002 543 or 9726 8111 Every 2nd week Uproar guys & gals are welcome to join Roar Energy for their activities, as well as come along to the these ones, just for Grade 6s. 24th April Sports & Trivia Tonight we will be starting off with some sports then upstairs to play Disney trivia on the big screen. A great night to test your knowledge and win some prizes. Start 7pm, pick up 9pm Cost $3 8th May Hanging Around We’re off to Hard Rock indoor rock climbing. A fantastic night to hang around (several metres off the ground), build team skills and have a great time. Parent permission form and booking essential (limited spaces) Cost $18 and bring money for Maccas on the way home Bus leaves 6:30pm, back at 9:30pm. 22nd May Enjoy the Great Outdoors Tonight it’s a camp fire, cooking marshmallows and having a huge scavenger hunt. It will be dark so bring a torch or you won’t be able to find the clues. Start 7pm, pick up 9pm Cost $3 5th June It’s a long weekend, so no Uproar tonight. Enjoy the break! 19th June 26th June Disco Chill Out Join Roar Energy for the disco—heaps of fun. See you there! We just chucked this in to finish off a great term. Come sit back relax & enjoy a great DVD, eat some hot pizza and chips and chill so that you can conserve your energy for the school holidays. Start 7pm, pick up 9pm Cost $3 Our Aim at Kids Domain Friday Nights is to provide a fun-filled safe environment for all children. Sign out. All children need to be signed out by an adult when collected. If a parent is not collecting your child, please let us know who will be and ask them to bring some identification with them, so that we can ensure the safety of your children. Refill Café at the Stadium is open for coffee, snacks, icy poles, etc at the following times: 3:30-4:30 For kids & leaders 5:30-6:30 For parents while they wait (& kids after they finish) Sun hats should be sent with your child during terms 1 and 4, and sunscreen should be applied before they arrive. We can provide sunscreen but the children will need to apply it themselves. Website Check our website for current calendars and pdf files of all parent permission forms. Please make sure you check the calendar (here or on the website), make a note of what’s happening and send your child dressed appropriately for the activity. The back cover provides details of special events coming up, so make sure you read it to keep up to date. Afternoon tea We provide afternoon tea for the children, prior to beginning our programs. If your child is usually very hungry after school, or has special dietary needs, please feel free to pack a snack for them. Any food from home will not be shared.
