Acceleration can be found by Acceleration = change in velocity (m/s) time taken for the change (s)  Acceleration     To find the change in velocity we need to know The final velocity, called v The initial velocity, called u So the change in velocity is (v – u) Acceleration    If the change in velocity is measured in m / s And time is measured in s Then the acceleration is measured in m / s2 (metres per second per second, or, metres per second squared, or m s-2) Acceleration  Putting everything together we can write a new equation for acceleration: a = (v - u) t Show your understandings  Answer Q 1 & 2 off p 129 of the PHYSICS text.
