6th Grade Weekly Letter

                      Letter
             Information for the week of May 18th to May 22nd.




Math:
We will still be taking a test on chapter 9 on Thursday the 21st. Study Guide
will come home Tuesday.


Social Studies:
We will be learning about Medieval Europe. Our test on chapters 14 and 15
will be on Monday the 18th. The test will be on the 4 major topics that we
learned about. You will have two choices for each topic on how you want to
share what you know with me. You will only have to pick one. The more you
know the better.


Reading:
Lit. Circles: Students should be reading their book. Be sure to do the
worksheet for the week! The group presentation will be assigned on Tuesday.


English:    This week we will continue to work on our new writing unit:
Persuasive Essays. Students will be learning how to formulate a strong
thesis statement and how to persuade an audience based on their opinions,
facts, and counterarguments.


Science:       We will be finishing our overview of climate and climate
regions in our new unit on weather. Students will be conducting a lab activity
where they will investigate differences in climate on a make-believe
continent called “Ert”. We will then begin a chapter reviewing the layers of
the atmosphere and air pressure.


Religion:   We will take the test on Fully Alive, Theme III on May 14th.
Outlines and paragraphs are due on Friday, May 14th.
We will begin Theme IV, Growing in Commitment, on Monday, May 18th.
