Dear Prospective buyer: In addition to the questionnaire requested, we had to initiate a new policy into the selling process due to un-foreseen events that created many complications and conflicts caused by either a flow of events not managed properly or unexpected decisions made by screened buyers via the questionnaire, that neglected to inform us they had changed their mind about purchasing when the pups were ready for viewing, and I would call to set their viewing date for showing and/or selection time. I appreciate and respect the fact that everyone is entitled to changing their minds or unexpected events occur that may create financial hardship, life-style changes which would now interfere or create difficulty in their lives by choosing to go through with purchase. The part of the process that confused me was why they waited until I phoned them to schedule their selection date to let me know they changed their mind. In some cases, they had even decided not to wait until mine were ready to show and had purchased a pup from someone else several weeks prior. As a result, of their lack of communication to notify me of their change in status, I assumed they still expected me to reserve their name and preference via the waiting list, which I did. Listed are a few examples of some of the complications and problems I encountered. 1. I turned potentially other prospective buyers away because based on what I thought was already spoken for based on color and/or sex, I had no other available pups to offer them. Had I known in advance the initial candidates had changed their mind, I might have had a pup to offer. 2. I had clients state their preferences on the questionnaire and change their mind once they came to see them created chaos and became very nerve racking and time consuming trying to organize a schedule that allowed those waiting to come see for the first time and choose, then rescheduling those that changed their preference on their first visit, provided I still had what they wanted. Which only happened if a pup was already reserves for someone else and they came to view, and either didn’t buy or changed their mind about their original preference and bought one that wasn’t reserved and available. I never knew what to expect when people showed up. Some couldn’t make up their minds and wanted to come back for a second look, some would set dates and call to want to re-schedule because something came up, or some would say they were coming and never show, then call the next day and want to re-schedule. 3. Because of the people that changed their minds for whatever reason, I had to start re-advertising the pups left, hoping to find a buyer looking for what I still had. The older a pup gets the harder it is to sell them. Many buyers prefer a pup between 6-8 wks old, and consider older pups more difficult to train or adapt to a new environment and/or owner, therefore prospective buyers become limited. So what’ s a breeder/seller supposed to do with a puppy they thought was going to a new home, they can’t afford to keep or have the space and time required in raising it because they already have enough of their own? Difficult decision ….wouldn’t you agree? So far, I haven’t had to make that decision, and I feel both lucky & blessed that in the past all the chaos had a way of working out for the benefit of all involved. (the buyer, the seller, & most of all the pups that found loving owners and homes) However, as fate might have it, I won’t push my luck. I will count my blessings, learn from my mistakes, and attempt to resolve negative experiences by means of creating a method to avoid them. Note: All preference reservations are added to the list in the order of the date the deposit is received.
Money Orders or Certified Checks are requested and should be sent via certified mail. A copy of the certification receipt and time & date sent should be sent via email or enclosed with the returned form. This will secure proper order on the preference list in the event 2 deposits are received the same day from different prospective buyers requesting the same preferences. You will be notified if none of your preferences are available at the time of receipt of your deposit At which time you may either request a refund or place it on “Hold”, in the event someone request to be removed from the waiting list that had requested the same preferences as you, or if your 2nd priority preferences are available. All preference reservation deposits will be applied to the down payment deposit upon selection of a puppy at your scheduled viewing date. Deposits are non-refundable based on the following conditions: 1. You decide to rescind your commitment to purchase and you do not notify us to have your name removed from the waiting list before the puppies reach 5 wks of age. 2. If we have scheduled and confirmed your viewing date for selection and you are a “No Show” and do not contact us within 2 hrs prior to your appointment time or within 24 hrs. past. 3. In the event we ARE notified, you will be given the option of re-scheduling, but it must be within one week of your original scheduled appointment and can not conflict or be prior to another prescheduled appointment for another buyer that requested the same preferences as you as their priority of purchase. Please be aware that if you miss your 1st scheduled date to view and you cant re-schedule within the allotted time allowed, you MAY loose your priority ranking on the list due to the extended period of time you need in order to re-schedule or if there are other same preference candidates waiting on the list to be scheduled that placed a deposit, or those that requested the “Hold” deposit option due to a cancellation. 4. You will also be given the option of applying your deposit should you choose to select another pup from those available. _________________________________________________
