Dear <Prefix> <Last Name>

Colorado Mountain College’s Academic Standards Policy indicates that students must maintain a
cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better to remain in good academic standing. A review of
your academic record for the Spring Semester of 2003 indicates that you have not met this
minimum academic standard. Your record indicates that your cumulative grade point average
has been less than a 2.0 for at least the last two semesters of enrollment at Colorado Mountain
College, or your current cumulative grade point average has dropped below a 1.0. I must,
therefore, inform you that you have been placed on Academic Suspension.

Notation of your academic status will be made to your transcript with Colorado Mountain College.
Academic Suspension precludes your future enrollment at Colorado Mountain College.
Suspension status is usually maintained for at least one semester. The academic suspension
will, however, remain in place until removed by the Academic Standards Committee at your CMC
Campus.

Occasionally, circumstances beyond the control of the student cause poor academic
performance. For this reason, the College has developed an appeal mechanism. If you feel that
your individual circumstances should be considered in the decision related to your continued
eligibility to enroll, please contact your Student Services representative at your CMC Campus.
He or she will provide additional information concerning the appeal process.

If you have any questions concerning your academic standing, please contact the Student
Services Office at your campus.

Sincerely,
