Mother's Day Workshop
Join one of talented instructors to create a special gift for your mom. Both stores will have a FREE workshop from 10:00am to Noon on May 9th. There are several projects available to choose from; and all are beginner level so anyone can create a fantastic gift. Choose from name bracelets, charm bracelets, birthstone column pendant necklace, charm necklace, or several other projects. All beads and findings must be purchased from World of Beads; open to anyone 12years and older; come in any time between 10:00am and 11:00am to start your project. Introduction to Beaded Jewelry-Straight Strung Jewelry: $18.00+kit This is a great starting class for new beaders. Topics that will be covered include: choosing the correct cording for your projects; choosing beads; getting the correct tools; basic findings; and design basics. Students will construct and properly finish a straight strung bracelet using crimp beads. Then learn to use clamshells to create a cute illusion type necklace. Tri County: May 7, 6-8pm Hyde Park: May 11, 6-8 Introduction to Beaded Jewelry-Earrings: $40.00 Learn to manipulate headpins and wire to create dangle earrings. Students will concentrate on the professional and secure wire wrap technique to create 2 simplistic earring pairs and 2 complex earring pairs. This technique is also used for making necklace pendants and dangles. Tri County: May 14, 6-8pm Hyde Park: May 25, 6-8pm Wrapped Up In Wire Workshop: $20.00 Have a wire wrap project in mind and need to know how to do it? This class is a crash course in the wire wrap technique. Learn to correctly and securely wrap headpins and wire. Hyde Park: May 16, 10-11am; June 20, 10-11am Top Drilled Earrings: $30.00 Want to learn how to wrap all those gorgeous top drilled beads? After learning how to wrap beads that have holes running from top to bottom, now learn how to wrap the beads that have holes running across the top. Tri County: May 30, 10-11:30am Hyde Park: May 21, 6-7:30pm Knot Just For Pearls: $30.00 Learn the timeless technique used to space and protect your precious gems and pearls. Students will learn to make consistent knots while working on a pearl bracelet; and then finish that bracelet using clamshell closures. Four interwoven strands of gorgeous sparkling crystals and seed beads; what more could a crystal crazy beader want? This technique is easy to learn and has numerous design possibilities. Hyde Park: May 28, 6-8pm All Wrapped Up, Decorative Pendant: $55.00+kit A terrific class for rock or sea glass collectors. Learn to turn an object, such as a gem cabochon, into an eye catcher of a pendant. Students will encase their brought object in square and 1/2 round wire; and then finish it off with decorative swirls and lashings. The instructor brings stones in with her to purchase if you need one. Tri County: to be announced Hyde Park: to be announced All Wrapped up, Art Ring: $55.00+kit Create this free-formed wire ring using wire and beads. Wire will be swirled and twirled to make a very unique design. And yes, it looks more complex than it is to make. Everyone will love your creation! Tri County: to be announced Hyde Park: May 9, Noon-4:00pm Swarovski Floral Woven Bracelet: $35.00+supplies This is a very adorable woven project, especially if you like flowers. Your color selection is what makes this pattern sing! With so many choices, the color combinations are endless. The pattern is easily altered to create different effects. Hyde Park: May3, 4-6pm; June 17, 6-8pm Stop My Heart Pendant: $35.00+supplies Always a crowd pleaser. Adorable and sparkly; what else needs to be said? This heart is so dainty, so feminine, and so fun! This adorable pendant makes a great gift for that special someone (or for yourself). Learn to use the Right Angle Weave technique to form this heart. You'll also have an option for adding a bail. Tri County: May 16, 10am-12:30pm Hyde Park: May 20, 6-8pm; June 14, 4-6pm Rosary Workshop: $12.00+supplies Learn the One-Loop-Roll-Over technique to create your own rosary. Rosaries are a very personal objects, so what better way to show your love than hand making a rosary. Make your child's First Communion rosary or your own personalized one. Tri County: May 28, 6-8pm Fired Up! Glass Lampwork Bead Creations: $135.00 Learn to make your own beads!!! If you like those intricate and gorgeous glass beads then this is a must class. Create bumpy beads, swirled color beads, cutie little animals; whatever your heart's desire. This is a very informative class covering the basics of glass bead making. Discussions on studio set up, safety, tools, and more will also be covered. Students will focus on controlling and working with a torch to form uniform beads and how to apply dots, swirls, textures and more. All supplies are included and you make as many beads as you want. Beads will be available to pick up the next day. Tri County 10am-4pm. The actual date will be announced soon but it will either be June 3 or 4.
Registration is required at time of class sign up; and in advance to class date. If a class requires supplies or a kit, they need to be purchased prior to class time.
