In the spring, I conducted an on-line survey of our members about their awareness of, and
use of the CAS standards in to help me in the preparation of a program that I presented at
the annual CACUSS conference in St. John’s, Newfoundland in June (the theme of the
conference was ―imagine‖). The session was titled ―Imagine Using the CAS Standards to
do Assessment in Student Affairs‖. There were many members who attended the session
who had never heard of CAS or been to a general information session about the CAS
standards – it has been a number of years since such a session was conducted at the
CACUSS conference. I have had follow up questions from a number of CACUSS
members since the conference. Highlights of the survey results are included below.
Some highlights of the CACUSS Member Survey…
Canadian Association of College
and University Student Services
(CACUSS)
Outcomes…25.1%
At the conference in June a new CACUSS President took office –
He is Jim Delaney, Director of the Vice Provost, Students’ Office at
the University of Toronto.
The next annual CACUSS conference will be held in June 2009 at
the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario. The 2010
conference will be held at the University of Calgary in Calgary,
Alberta.
