                             ABSTRACT

 Vehicle Identification System uses the RFID technology.

 It can be used by three users namely Police, Insurance companies and
 Service centres.

 Police will use it to reduce the vehicle theft and to retrieve the required
 details for verification.

 Insurance companies will use it to simplify the complexity in handling the
 insurance information of the vehicle and in renewing the insurance
 information.

  Service centers will use it to simplify the process of
   servicing the vehicle and to gain customer satisfaction and
   then to retrieve the required service details of the vehicle.

   This system uses RFID TX-Rx system to track the vehicle.

   Tracked vehicle ID will be used by the entire application to
   do any kind of process.
INTRODUCTION
    VIS uses the RFID technology in tracking the vehicle unique ID.


    The RFID Tx can able to send 4 bit data using 4-bit switch system to
   the receiver.

    The RFID receiver can able to track the vehicle upto the range of 15
   feet.

    The unique vehicle id will be used by all the users through out the
   application.

    All the users can able to retrieve and manage the required details.

    The RFID Rx is connected into the system using COM1 serial port.
                       ANALYSIS

             PROBLEM DEFINITION
         The Vehicle Identification System can be used to
retrieve and manage the Owner, Vehicle information and so
on . It uses the RFID technology in the process of tracking the
vehicle. It can be used by three users namely Police,
Insurance companies and Service centers. Through this the
complexity in handling the required information will get
reduced.
                           EXISTING SYSTEM

 In U.S.A, the RFID system is used to check the status of the vehicle in the
particular premises.

 The RFID Tx card will be fixed in the car which is having the vehicle no in it.

 The RFID Rx can able to track the vehicle when the vehicle enters the premises.

 The receiver will track the vehicle no from the transmitter.

 The tracked vehicle no will get checked into the premises local database.

   If the vehicle no present in the database, then the gate will get
    automatically opened and then allow the vehicle to enter the
    premises.

   If it is not present there in the database, then the vehicle won’t be
   allowed to enter the premises.
                    PROPOSED SYSTEM
 Our Vehicle Identification System uses the same RFID Tx-Rx system
concept in tracking the Vehicle unique ID instead of Vehicle no.

 The vehicle will get tracked by the Rx device when it enters the premises
, which in turn will get the unique ID no into the system.

 Using the ID no that was retrieved, the corresponding user can able to
perform the required operation in the VIS application.

 This system can be used by three users namely Police, Insurance
companies and Service centers.

   The user can able to retrieve the required information from the server
    rather than just checking the status of the vehicle.

   The VIS application can be used in such a way that all retrieving and
    managing operations can be done easily.

APPLICATION DESIGN
                             MODULE – I
     Vehicle Tracking by RFID Interrogator device
    The RFID Tx device will be fixed in the vehicle, it contains 4-bit size unique Vehicle
    ID.

   The RFID Rx device will be connected into the system using COM1 serial port.

   When the vehicle enters the premises, it will get automatically tracked by the Rx
    device and the ID will get stored into the local database.

   After the vehicle ID get tracked, it will show a message to the user indicating that
    vehicle was tracked successfully and then the user will start the processes.

   The RFID Rx device can able to track the vehicle up to the range of 15 feet.

    The RFID Tx device contains 4 bit data and a 4-bit switch system, which can be used
    to set data up to the range of 0 to 15.

                       MODULE - II POLICE
 When    the application opened, the Home page contains links to three users applications,
by clicking the corresponding button the user will get navigated into the respective
application.


 After that the Police Login page will open in order to allow or reject the user to access the
application.


 Thepolice domain will use the VIS application in order to easily access the Vehicle and
Owner information and in turn to reduce the Vehicle theft.


 After the vehicle get tracked, one message will be shown to the user indicating that the
vehicle was tracked successfully.


 After  that the message was shown, the user will click Start Vehicle Track button in order
to retrieve the required details. The opening form will just display the general details such as
owner name, vehicle no etc,.


 When   the user clicks Owner and Vehicle button, it will display the corresponding owner
and vehicle information to the user.
                     MODULE – III
                 INSURANCE COMPANIES
 When the application opened, the Home page contains links to three users
applications, by clicking the corresponding button the user will get navigated into the
respective application.


 After that the Insurance Login page will open, where the user have to type the user
name and password to access the application, otherwise the user wont be allowed to
access the application, the error message will be showed.


 The insurance domain will use the VIS application in order to easily access the Owner,
Vehicle information and to maintain the Insurance information of the vehicle.


 After the vehicle get tracked, one message will be shown to the user indicating that
the vehicle was tracked successfully.


 After the message was shown, the user will click Start Vehicle Track button in order to
retrieve the required details. The opening will just display the general details such as
Policy no, Certificate no etc,.

 When the user clicks Owner button, it will display the owner
information to user.

 When the user clicks Vehicle button, it will display the vehicle
information to user.

 When the user clicks Insurance button, it will display the general
insurance information of the vehicle.

 In the Insurance form when the user clicks Renew button, it will display
the Renew form which is used to renew the insurance information of the
vehicle.

                        SERVICE CENTERS
When the application opened, the Home page contains links to three users
applications, by clicking the corresponding button the user will get navigated in
to the respective application.

 After that the Service Center Login    page will open in order to allow or restrict
the user in accessing the application.

 The service center domain will use the VIS application to retrieve    the
required Owner, Vehicle and Service information.

 After the vehicle get tracked one message will be shown to the user
indicating that the vehicle was tracked successfully, then the user have to click
the Start Vehicle Track button, to display the general details such as Service no,
No. of Services etc,.

 When the user clicks Owner and Vehicle button, it will display the
corresponding owner and vehicle information to the user.

 When the user clicks Service button, it will display the service information to the
user.

 When the user clicks History button, it will display the history information of the
service.

 When the user clicks New Service button, it will display the new service form
where the user will gather the requirements and then service the customer.
CONCLUSION


             It has been proved that using a dedicated combination
  of hardware and software that it is not only possible to identify
  the correct vehicle, but it is also possible to gather the required
  details through the web. And all the hardware devices that are
  used in VIS are checked and tested according to the specifications.
FUTURE ENHANCEMENTS

 In future the RFID Rx device can be connected into the system through USB
  port rather than serial port COM1/COM2 etc,.

 A chip can be designed specially which can be used at both the Tx and Rx
  ends for the purpose of encryption and decryption of vehicle ID that was
  tracked.

 The RFID Interrogator can be designed in such a way that it can be able to
  track the vehicle up to range of more than 30 feet.

 Multiple premises PC for same operation in case of any system crash

 The device will be designed in such a way that it will stop the vehicle
  automatically when it seems to be there any problem with the vehicle like
  Theft vehicle etc,.

 RFID Tx can be designed in such a way that there will be no need for battery
   input, where the power will be supplied from the vehicle itself.
