• „Arial‟ (10 – 11 point font) or „Times New Roman‟ (11-
12 point font)
• Formatting
• CAPITALS, Bold, Italics, Underline (etc) are
consistent
• Spacing and margins are consistent
• Point-Form
• Short sentences with bullets

Rule #3: Appropriate & Effective Language
• Avoid Personal Pronouns
• Avoid words like „I‟, „my‟ and „me‟
• Instead, begin sentences with action-verbs
• Use Action Verbs
• i.e.: “supported managerial team by…”
• i.e.:“ coordinated and administered program budgets…”
