technology is constantly evolving. We are looking for enthusiastic, results-oriented professionals to join the
Telmetrics team.
VP, Business Development
The VP, Business Development is responsible for developing client relationships and achieving annual corporate
sales targets. This position will report directly to the President and will provide strategic direction, coaching and
leadership to facilitate the sales and account management teams in meeting and exceeding their objectives. Part of
the senior management team, the incumbent will also play a key role in corporate business planning and strategy.
Main Responsibilities:
Maintain and build strong relationships with key decision makers at the executive level, focusing on the
strategic nature of client relationships;
Development of new business opportunities for new products or emerging markets;
Analyze customer business opportunities and threats;
Using internal resources effectively, capitalize on established industry relationships to drive sales
opportunities within new and existing accounts;
Identify and effectively communicate current and future client needs;
Develop and implement sales strategy to execute on annual corporate strategy;
Continuously work on improving the customer experience by collaborating with internal department leaders
and evaluating the sales and account management processes;
Coach, mentor and motivate a high performing sales and account management (approx. 9 staff);
Communicate and promote Telmetrics’ culture by exemplifying Telmetrics core values;
Focus on professional development and growth of the team through mentorship and identification of training
opportunities;
Conduct semi-annual performance reviews and set department and individual objectives which directly
support corporate objectives.
Knowledge & Experience:
6-10 years of strategic account management experience within a service or software sales organization,
dealing with senior level executives and key department heads;
A minimum of 3 years experience leading a sales and/or account management team;
Post secondary degree or diploma, preferably in marketing or business;
Strong experience with solution based selling techniques and a proven track record of success;
Strong knowledge of the relationship between media publishers, agencies and advertisers.
Skills & Abilities:
Passionate about sales and internally motivated to meet and exceed personal and company objectives;
Proven ability to coach, mentor and motivate senior and junior staff;
Highly developed communication, client relations, negotiating and decision making skills, normally acquired
through substantial related work experience;
Strong client focus and results oriented outlook with a high level of integrity;
Strong interpersonal skills with a successful track record of working within a team oriented environment;
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities;
Must be able to travel regularly (25-30%) within Canada and the U.S.
