07 Template Unit Map
HEADERS: Please make sure you change your HEADERS accordingly, with each
   new document.

SAVING: Each Unit/Section should be its own document. Please save the
document, taking out the word “TEMPLATE” and designating the Unit - Section
contained. Therefore, the Unit Map for Unit 2-Section 3 would be:
            Unit Map 2.3

   Unit
Simply type in the number and name of the Unit:
Unit 2 – How to Write a Curriculum

   Section
Simply type in the number and name of the Section:
Section 2.3 – Filling out the Forms

   Timeline
Simply type in the number of days:
          Timeline 5 Days

   NJCCCS
Ten rows have been included in the template, for possible strands. Each has a „?‟ where
   the content # should go.
Column 1 - The first time you use the template, please replace all ?‟s with the Content
Number, before the standard # (Contents in RED Below). The Content Numbers are:
          1. Visual and Performing Arts
          2. Health and Physical Education
          3. Language Arts
          4. Mathematics
          5. Science
          6. Social Studies
          7. World Language
          8. Technology
          9. Career Education and Consumer, Family, and Life Skills

If there are more rows than there are standards in your content area, please delete the
extra rows. In the example below, Language Arts only has 5 strands, and so the rows
.6 through .9 have been deleted by highlighting the rows and pressing CTRL + X.

Column 2 – The text in this column should be CENTERED.
You only need to enter the Strand and CPI numbers. They may be grouped with a
hyphen as shown. Please separate individual CPI‟s, or one group from the next, with a
semicolon. Shown below, 3.1 is targets A.1 through A.6, while 3.2 targets A.2 AND C.6
   through C.8

Please note that in the example below, 3.4 is not targeted at all.
       1. This is acceptable. There does not have to be CPIs in for every standard in every
          unit.
       2. DO NOT delete standards rows just because there are no CPIs for that standard
in that section. If there five standards in Language Arts, there should ALWAYS
be five rows in your Unit Map.

Therefore, once you know the core content that will drive the course, fill in the
appropriate content number, delete the extra standard rows, and save this as your
   working template.

The example below uses Language Arts Standards:

           NJCCCS
             3.1 A.1-6
             3.2 A.2; C.6-8
             3.3 B.3
             3.4
             3.5 A.1-6

09 Template Activity Map

HEADERS: Please make sure you change your HEADERS accordingly, with each
new document. Include your Name of Course; Unit; Section.

SAVING: Each Unit/Section should be its own document. Please save the
document, taking out the word “TEMPLATE” and designating the Unit - Section
contained. Therefore, the Unit Map for Unit 4-Section 2 would be:
            Activity Map 4.2

   Essential Questions
Please cut and paste your EQ‟s for this section, replacing the text EQ‟S HERE.

   Objectives
Please enter the objectives from your Unit Map into the first column. Only ONE
objective should appear between gray rows. Each objective then has three rows
supplied in the second column – Suggested Activities/Strategies.

It is not necessary to have three activities for every objective, but more than one is
helpful, especially if they are written to represent different learning styles and levels of
   Bloom‟s Taxonomy.

If rows are not used, please leave them in the document.

   Suggested Activities/Strategies
Please enter one Activity/Strategy in each box for the corresponding objective.
Simply enter text; the box will expand down if necessary.

   Curriculum Infusion
Extended – If the activity/strategy goes beyond the expected student performance
by grade level for the given objective, place a capital „X‟ in the box. If not, leave

      required of an Honors class.

Modified – If the activity/strategy is an example of an activity/strategy that scaffolds
to the expected student performance by grade level for the given objective, place a
capital „X‟ in the box. If not, leave blank.

You may leave BOTH Extended and Modified Columns blank, indicating that the
listed activity is designed for the general classroom.

However, do NOT place an „X‟ in both Extended and Modified.

Technology Infusion – If the activity/strategy is an example of an activity/strategy
      that infuses technology:
Please type in the standard and strand that is evidenced.
Please do NOT put an „X‟ in the box.

Interdisciplinary Study – If the activity/strategy is an example of an activity/strategy
      that infuses other content areas:
Please type in the standard and strand that is evidenced.
Please do NOT put an „X‟ in the box.
