                                                                         ACTION PLAN FOR STUDENT PERFORMANCE


                                   Priority for Student Performance: CRCT data (as well as data from local assessments) from 2005-06 through 2007-08 show continuous growth and
                                   improvement for all students including subgroups. However data from 2008-09 reflects a decrease in student performance (7% decrease for all
                                   students and 21.9% decrease for ELL students). Although data for students with disabilities is not recorded above (due to small subgroups by grade
                                   level), the SWD subgroup did not make adequate progress. Sky View will focus on researched based strategies to improve reading comprehension.

                                   Priority for Student Performance: Over the past four years the percentage of students meeting and exceeding standards in math has remained
                                   stagnant. During this same time period ELL students showed continuous improvement until last year, 2008-09, when scores fell over 10%. In
                                   addition, test results for students with disabilities reveal large deficits. A review of CRCT data, Benchmark tests, local assessments and student work
                                   indicates that our students continue to struggle with number sense. We need to raise expectations for all students and work strategically to close
                                   the gaps between our ELL/SWD subgroups and their regular education peers.

                                                                                ACTION PLAN FOR SCHOOL PERFORMANCE



Priority for School Performance: Sky View continues to struggle to meet student academic goals in reading, writing and math. In addition, Sky View's School Climate Survey indicates parents would like to have more opportunities
to participate in their child's education. Research published by the Michigan Department of Education details the relationship of parent involvement to student academic achievement showing that when parents are involved in
their child's education the students have: higher grades, higher graduation rates, better school attendance, increased motivation, lower rates of suspension, decreased use of drugs and alcohol, and fewer instances of violent
behavior. Family participation in education was twice as predictive of students' academic success as family socioeconomic status. The most effective forms of parent involvement are those which engage parents in working directly
