The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. (Goldman Sachs) is a global investment banking, securities
and investment management firm that provides a range of services worldwide to a client

The net profit was $11,599 million in fiscal 2007 up from $9,537 million in fiscal 2006. The
increase in net profit was 17.7 percent.
