1. Company Overview

1.1 Business Overview
France Telecom S.A. together with Orange, Amena, TP Group, Equant and the PageJaunes
Group, offers its consumers and other telecommnunications operators, a selection of
services ranging from fixed line and mobile telephony, data transmission, Internet and
multimedia services and other value-added services. France Telecom provides services to its
millions of customers worldwide. The company operates in four segments: Personal
Communication Services, Home Communication Services, Enterprise Communications
Services and Directories.


1.2 Key Figures
The group recorded revenues of $77,336.0 million (€52,959 million) during the fiscal year
ended 31st December 2007 up from $68,231.1 million (€51,702 million) during the fiscal
year ended 31st December 2006. This translates to an increase of 13.3 percent. In terms of
Euro, the increase was just 2.4 percent.

The net profit was $9,957.8 million (€6,819 million) in fiscal year 2007 up from $6,292.3
million (€4,768 million) in fiscal year 2006, an increase of 58.3 percent. In terms of Euro,
the increase was 43.0 percent

The company’s total assets witnessed an increase to $147,757.5 million (€101,183 million)
in fiscal 2007 from $136,154.8 million (€103,171 million) in fiscal 2006.
France Telecom employed 187,331 people in fiscal year 2007, down from 191,036 in fiscal
year 2006.
