A Data Center is a facility used to house computer systems and associated components
(such as network equipment and storage systems). Also called a server farm, it includes
supporting equipment, such as backup power supplies, data communication connections,
environmental controls (e.g., air conditioning, fire suppression), rack infrastructure for
collocation, and security devices. Data Center Outsourcing refers to the outsourcing of Data
Center services to enable an organization reduce the amount of internal resources required
to manage Data Center operation.
