LESSON GO ALS:
       Help students reflect on their goals and dreams for the future.
       Begin discussing the connections between student’s interests and career ideas.

MATERI ALS NEEDED:
       Annual Goals Worksheet/High School and Beyond Plan ( one copy for each student)
       Personal Career Plan (already completed by Career Counselor, delivered to NAV 101 advisors)
       Career Clusters Introduction Handout (one copy for each student)

CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES:
  1. Discuss students’ goals for the year. Have students retrieve their Citizenship and Academic
     Goals they developed during Lessons 2 and 3 from their portfolios. Lead students in a discussion
     about their goals. What do they hope to achieve this year? What kind of help do they need to
     achieve their goals?
  2. Complete an Annual Goals Worksheet/High School & Beyond Plan. Distribute copies of the
     Annual Goals Worksheet/High School & Beyond Plan. Explain that students graduating from
     high school in Washington State are required to complete a High School & Beyond Plan. Ask
     students to answer the questions on the handout. Tell them to use the work they’ve done this year
     in advisory to help them. Have students copy their Citizenship and Academic Goals onto the
     second page of the Annual Goals Worksheet/High School and Beyond Plan.
  3. Have students develop Career Goals. Distribute a copy of the Career Clusters Introduction
     Handout to each student. Have students answer the questions on the worksheet about their career
     clusters interests and help students complete a Career SMART Goal.
  4. Discuss Curriculum Fair Logistics. Remind students that the next Navigation 101 lesson is the
     Curriculum Fair. Any students who haven’t signed up for their Curriculum Fair choices should
     do so at this time.

STUDENT PRODUCTS:
       Annual Goals Worksheet/High School and Beyond Plan. Each student should complete a
        worksheet and file it in his or her portfolio.
