THE LIBRARY OF MINUTE MAN NATIONAL HISTORICAL PARK has approximately 1,600 volumes that pertain primarily to the park's themes: the Battle of April 19, 1775; the American Revolution; 18th century life; and The Wayside authors: Nathaniel Hawthorne, Louisa May Alcott, Bronson Alcott and Margaret Sidney. The Wayside is a historic house museum and National Historic Landmark. The Allen French Collection consists of some of the books collected throughout the career of the historian, Allen French, author of The Day of Concord and Lexington. Reference books include a set of Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors of the Revolutionary War: A Compilation from the Archives, Prepared by the Secretary of the Commonwealth, 1896. Besides books, the library also has microfilm, videos, DVDs, CDs, audio cassettes, long playing albums, and modern photographs and negatives of structures and other cultural resources in the park. Microfilm includes the diaries, journals and family letters of A. Bronson Alcott; annotated 18th century MA newspapers; 19th century newspapers for Middlesex County, MA and Concord, MA; census records from 1790 – 1830 for Middlesex County, MA and Concord, MA; Lincoln, MA Town Records, 1776 - 1810; Probate Records; Middlesex County Court of General Sessions Records 1692 – 1861 and Middlesex County Records. Archives The archival collections are the largest segment of the park museum collection which consists of over 500,000 artifacts and includes, among other items, archeological collections; the furnishings for The Wayside; and historic photographs and post cards. Cultural Landscape Reports Research Collection April 19, 1975 Bicentennial Records Park Reports, 1958 – 2007, which includes over 300 reports, such as historic structure reports, archeological reports, and cultural landscape reports, related to the cultural resources and historic themes of the park,.
