Seminar on Business Opportunities with Asian Development Bank
22 Nov 2007
Projects funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB) present attractive business
opportunities for manufacturers, contractors, and consultants. ADB finances for loan, grant,
and technical assistance projects across Asia to its developing member countries. The total
net loan amount as of end December 2006 reached to $37.3 billion, of which $7 billion worth
projects are in India. Under these projects, the total contract amounts of over $7 billion were
awarded for goods, works, and consulting services from July 2006 to July 2007. Indian firms’
performance was excellent during this period to win contacts of $1.5 billion in total, which
was the best among ADB member countries.
Export Import Bank of India (Exim Bank) and Federation of Indian Export
Organizations (FIEO) have been actively promoting effective participation by Indian
