However there is still much work to be done to relieve poverty. Specifically there has been a significant realisation that Africa needs to look at the small business sector if the current growth trend is to be sustained.. To address this, Africagrowth Agenda in partnership with African government and major organisations is organising the second Africa SMME Conference and Awards which will take place on the 23rd of October 2008. The Conference and Awards ceremony will be aimed at presenting recent growth trends in SMME development in the continent and recognising and rewarding successful SMME entrepreneurs The main aim of this event is, therefore, to support and showcase Africa’s finest entrepreneurial achievements in the SMMEs sector.
