District 308-A2 Lions Club Awards Criteria 2009-2010 A) Planning Award To qualify this award, club must submit an Annual Plan of Action which covers the following 1. Monthly Meeting Schedule 2. Budget 3. Membership Growth Target 4. Club Extension Target 5. Leadership Practices 6. Major Service Project 7. Major Fund Raising Project and submit to DG/1st & 2nd VDG/CS/RC/ZC/DC Activities and all other DCs on/before 13/7/2009.
B)
Outstanding Club Award To qualify this, club must fulfill all the followings: 1. LCI Dues 1. 1st Half Yearly LCI Dues to be paid on/before 15/8/2009 2. 2nd Half Yearly LCI Dues to be paid on/before 26/2/2010 3. No unpaid balance of over USD50 owing to LCI as at 26/2/2010. 2. District Dues To be paid in full on/before 15/8/2009 3. Semi-Annual Statement of Account 1. Account ending 30/6/09 to be received on/before 26/8/2009 2. Account ending 31/12/09 to be received on/before 26/2/2010 to submit to DG/1st & 2nd VDG/CT/ZC/DC Activities. 4. Monthly Membership Report [WMMR] E-submission to LCI/DG/1st & 2nd VDG/CS/CT/ZC/DC Activities /DC Membership/DC Retention/DC Family & Women’s Membership Development on/before 26th of the current month. 5. Monthly Activities Report [MAR] E-Submission to DG/1st & 2nd VDG/CS/RC/ZC/DC Activities & Bulletin & the respective DC; to reach them on/before 26th of the current month. 1
6. Club Meetings 1. At least 1 BOD Meeting and 1 General/Fellowship Meeting per month with majority attendance. 2. Clubs are encouraged to invite District Trainer[s] to speak on interesting topics.
7. District Governor Advisory Committee Meeting 1. At least 4 including President, Secretary, Treasurer, 1st Vice President, Membership Chairperson and Leo Advisor attending all 4 DG Advisory Committee Meetings. 2. President must attend 3 out of 4 meetings 8. PU-101 E-submission to LCI/DG/1st & 2nd VDG/CS/ZC/DC Activities on/before 15/3/2010. 9. Club Registration 1. Club must maintain a valid registration with ROS. 2. Submission of Annual Returns to ROS/DG/1st & 2nd VDG/RC/ZC/DC Activities/DC C&BL & Club Registration on/before 31/8/2009. 10. LCI Monthly/Annual Activities Report E-submission to LCI/DG/1st & 2nd VDG/CS/ZC/DC Activities on/before 26/6/2010.
C)
Excellence Club Award To qualify this award, club must fulfill the Outstanding Club Award and 10 of the following: 1 Installation of Board of Directors 2009-2010 To be held no later than 15/9/09.
2. Joint Installation of Board of Directors 2009-2010 To participate Mass/Regional/Zonal Joint Installation with at least 75% attendance of Board of Directors and majority of Club membership. 3. Lions Protocol & Decorum Proper and correct conduct of Lions Protocol and Decorum at all times when dealing with the District Governor, Lions dignitaries, District Cabinet Officers, and amongst Lions. 4. Membership Growth 10% net growth of Total Membership as at 15/3/2010

5. Friends of Lions [FOL] Submission to DG/1st & 2nd VDG/CS/RC/ZC/DC Activities/DC Friends of Lions 1. To recruit 5 Friends of Lions on/before 15/3/2010 2. FOL Nomination Form to be submitted together with MAR and to reach them on/before 26th of the current month.
6. Induction of New Member [s] 1. All new members must be properly inducted 2. Orientation for new members is a must 7. Leadership Practices To fulfill item 1 and any 2 others: 1. President Elect and any 3 other key officers attending District Conference May 2009 2. At least 4 attendance to MERL Conference 3. Attendance to Regional Lions Leadership Institute [RLLI] 4. To organize at least one Orientation/Seminar Workshop on leadership training at club level and to invite at least one other club to participate. 8. Major Service Project 1. To organize 1 major service project with majority involvement and participation of club’s membership. 2. Clubs are encouraged to organize community/health/sight first projects with at least 50% membership participation/involvement. 9. Major Fund Raising Project 1. To organize at least 1 major fund raising project with majority involvement and participation of club’s membership. 2. Clubs are encouraged to donate a recommended amount of RM 2,000.00 to anyone of the locally approved homes/institutions/ charitable bodies, E.g. Sabah Kidney Society in KK, Kuching Nursing Home in Kuching, Association For Children with Special Needs in Sibu, MRCS Dialysis Center in Miri, Sabah Cheshire Home in Sandakan.
10. Lions Clubs International Foundation At least 1 member donating to LCIF as Melvin Jones Fellow by 26/2/2010. 11. District 308-A2 Foundation At least 2 members donating to District 308-A2 Foundation as District Fellow by 26/2/2010.

12. District Leadership Development Fund Donation of RM300 to District Leadership Development Fund by 26/2/2010. 13. District Scholarship Fund At least one donation of RM300 to District Scholarship Fund by 26/2/2010.
14. Convention To fulfill either one of the following: By 26/2/2010 President and members to register for: 1. 48th MD308 Lions Convention, Singapore [29/4-2/5/2010] 2. 93rd LCI International Conventional, Sydney [28/6-2/7/2010] 3. 48th OSEAL Forum, Pattaya, Thailand [19-22/11/2009] 15. Special Achievement Club Award 1. Club Membership Growth Award To be awarded to 1 Lions Club with the highest numbers of net membership growth as at 15/3/2010. 1. Membership Strength 20 and Below 2. Membership Strength 21 – 30 3. Membership Strength 31 – and above 2. Outstanding Service Activities Award To be awarded to 3 clubs with the most meaningful service activities in respect of public participation, media publicity, numbers of man-hours spent, fund expended and the most number of people benefited. 3. Outstanding Fund Raising Project Award To be awarded to 3 clubs with the highest amount of fund raised, with at least 50% of the proceeds contributed to any of the approved Home, Welfare Institutions or School. The project must involve majority membership involvement. 4. Club Extension Award To clubs which charter new Lions Club or sponsor new Leo Club during the fiscal year. 5. Club Retention Award To be awarded to a club which has the highest membership growth with no drop as at 30/6/2010. 6. Friends of Lions Award To be awarded to a Lions Club for the highest numbers of FOL turned Lions as at 15/3/2010. 7. International Understanding Award To clubs that twin with Lions Clubs in other District. 8. Humanitarian Award To club with highest MJF Contribution, subject to minimum of 3 MJF by 15/3/2010. [In the event of ties – club members who wear Lions emblem constantly and club submission of MMR/MAR on time shall take precedence.]
