Chinese Business Visa How to Apply for a Business Visa to China The China Business Visa The Chinese Business Visa is granted to travelers who plan to enter China to do business, participate in scientific-technological and cultural exchanges or take part in short-term advanced studies or internship that are six months or less in duration. Upon arrival, your documents will be examined by an inspection agent. If everything is correct, they will be stamped with an entry seal. If you want to travel to any area not yet opened to the tourists, you will have to apply for a Foreign Travel Permit at the local public security organ. General China Visa Requirements To apply for any visa to China, Chinese Embassy and Consulates require the following: a valid passport with 6 months validity remaining; at least one blank visa page; a recent passport photo (black & white or color); completed China visa application form; payment Additional Requirements for a Business Visa To obtain a business visa to China, you must submit a Visa Notifications Form from an authorized Chinese Unit, or invitation letters from the company that will be your host in China, meeting or exhibition organizers in China, or an introduction letter from your U.S. company. You can apply for a Multiple Entry Business Visa with 24 months validity, if • Your submit documents proving that you have made an investment in China, or have established a collaboration with a Chinese company. Examples of such documents might be business license, contracts, a letter of appointment, etc.; or • Your have been issued a Chinese business visa at least two times. Take it to the Chinese embassy or consulate general which holds consular jurisdiction over the state where you reside along with your passport, photo, payment and accompanying documents. The Chinese Embassy and Consulate Generals do not accept visa applications by mail. If you cannot apply in person, you can send a relative, friend, or travel/visa agent to submit the application on your behalf. Another option is to contract a private travel document expediter. This means that you have 90 days or 180 days from the date of issue to enter China. Normally, you can stay up to 30 days for each entry. If you plan to stay longer, you can make this request on your application form. Additional Notes • Your visa application can be delayed or rejected if it is not filled out completely and correctly. Take your time and check everything twice. • You are encouraged to apply for your visa a month before your departure date. While regular processing usually takes only 4 days, it can take longer, especially if the visa officer makes a request for additional documentation. • The visa officer who reviews your application has final authority to determine the validity, duration of stay and time of entry of the visa you are issued. • Any person who suffers from a mental disorder, leprosy, AIDS, venereal diseases, contagious tuberculosis or other such infectious diseases shall not be permitted to enter China.
