Aim of lesson: To put learners at their ease and ensure they understand what the course entails; to
discover adult computing knowledge; for each family to work as a team to create saved text in
Microsoft Word and images in Microsoft Paint.
Objectives to be covered in lesson: At the end of the session the learners will be able to input data
into Word and save it, and to create coloured images in Paint and copy them into their saved word
processing document. They will feel confident about mentoring and teaching each other and working
as a family team.

accordingly (e.g. dyslexic students may need more time to complete each task, and more help from

images and manipulating them, and by designing a front cover in Microsoft Publisher.

insert images and manipulate them. They will be able to create an A4 poster in Publisher. They will
bind their project.
