Directions to Argonne (DOE) from O’Hare

Drive east (toward Chicago) on Interstate 190 to the exit for Interstate 294 south (toward Indiana). Go south on Interstate 294 to the exit for Interstate 55 south (toward St. Louis). Note: I-294 is a tollway, so you will need $1.90 in change (there are two tolls at $0.80 and one at $0.30) for the automatic, cash-only lanes. Take I-55 south to the exit for South Cass Avenue. Exit at South Cass Avenue, drive over the overpass, and you will see the sign for Argonne National Laboratory. Follow the signs and turn right into the Laboratory entrance on Northgate Road. *

Take Cicero Avenue north to the entrance to Interstate 55 south (toward St. Louis), which will be on your left. Take I-55 south to the exit for South Cass Avenue. Exit at South Cass Avenue, drive over the overpass, and you will see the sign for Argonne National Laboratory. Follow the signs and turn right into the Laboratory entrance on Northgate Road. *
* If you have a standard issued DOE badge, you may continue through to Guard Gate otherwise you must stop at Visitor’s Reception Center (building on the right just before the Guard Gate).
