Comment Text : --> The proposed nuclear waste facility at Yucca Mountain has the potential to pollute water and springs flowing in Death Valley and in other parts of Inyo County. It is too risky to the wellbeing of people, plants, and animals in this part of the Mojave Desert to store nuclear waste at Yucca Mountain. There is no way to ensure that nuclear waste can be stored thousands of years until it decays into harmless matter. Currently there is no way to ensure that nuclear waste being transported along the highways or railways would not be subject to accidents and sabatoge. There is too much potential for nuclear waste containers to be damaged and to spill their contents resulting in nuclear contamination of whole communities. There is no currently no known way to store nuclear waste safety for the thousands of years required. The better plan (no plan is good) is to store nuclear waste at the facilities creating it until a way is found to reuse it safely. Please consider my comments in your decision Sincerely, Wilma A.
