Join SIS in the Ride for Parkinson’s 2nd Annual Motorcycle Run Sanford, ME -April 8th, 2009-Sanford Institution for Savings (SIS) is sponsoring the second annual Motorcycle Run for Parkinson’s on Sunday, June 14th. The event will bring together riders from southern Maine and beyond to raise awareness of the disease and money toward a cure. One hundred percent of the $10.00 fee per rider will go to the Maine Parkinson Society. SIS started the annual motorcycle run last summer in support of the bank’s York branch manager, Stephanie Vallee, and her husband Steve. Steve, a veteran and avid motorcyclist was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson’s disease in early 2008, at the age of 44. “This is an event that is very close to the SIS family,” said Mark Mickeriz, bank president. “The ride is about coming together, having fun and taking a stand against this disease.” Mickeriz will be riding in the event for the second time. The ride will start at 11:00AM at Bentley’s Saloon in Arundel, Maine and end at the American Legion in York, Maine, for a complimentary cookout.
