View of the crowd at the 2004 Rose Bowl College Football Game. This section lists college and amateur leagues by total attendance. Remaining amateurism requirements in most top-level sports were dropped in the late 20th century, and there are now few amateur leagues which are of interest to a wide public. In the United States, college sports are very popular and at least one significant ice hockey league retains an amateur requirement. In Ireland, the All-Ireland senior championships in Gaelic football and hurling, which both continue to prohibit professionalism, each draw over 80,000 to fill Croke Park for the respective finals.[11] The NCAA championships listed here are all composed of several separate conferences with varying attendance levels. For example, in American football, 2008 per-game home attendances for the highest level of competition, Division I FBS, ranged from 16,727 for Mid-American Conference teams to 76,844 for Southeastern Conference teams (the latter a record for all NCAA conferences).[12]

Domestic knock-out cup competitions
This section list attendances at domestic knock-out cup competitions in order of average attendance. It is very incomplete. In particular, there is a professional football (soccer) cup competition in most countries, and some countries have two. 1 Due to varying figures of 45,000 and 51,300 being given for the two games of the first-round doubleheader, an average figure of 48,150 was used for calculation.
International club competitions
This section lists the attendances at international competitions between sports clubs. These are usually organised on a continental basis. The teams which compete in these tournaments also compete in the domestic competitions in their home countries. This table is incomplete. • 1 Current competition

Each ticket package sold for that event admits the holder to both semifinal games, the third-place game, and the final.
Competitions between national teams
• 1The Ashes is Test cricket, which, unlike all other sports listed here (including the Cricket World Cup), is contested over
more than one day (a maximum of 5 days for each match). Therefore it should be noted that these average attendance figures are not indicative of a single day’s attendance. The five matches of the 2006-07 Ashes were contested over a total of 22 days, therefore the average attendance for a single day would be 36,969. • 2Although 32 games were played in the 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup, tickets were sold only for 21 matchdays. The final schedule, which was affected slightly by Typhoon Wipha, saw 22 matches scheduled as doubleheaders—16 during pool play, all four quarterfinals, and the third-place game and final in a single

Domestic club championship events
This section lists the most recent attendances at annual championship events (single decider matches, or the final match in a best-of series) by total attendance, and includes
domestic leagues and competitions. It has to be noted that the listed crowd figures are a reflection of a championship stadium’s capacity. The table is divided into sports that are meant to be played outdoors and indoors. Included in "outdoors" are events done in a domed or closed-retractable stadiums but are meant to be played in an open stadium, while included in "indoors" are events done in a domed or closed-retractable stadiums but are meant to be played in an indoor arena.

The "play-in" game of the men’s tournament, the four regional finals of both tournaments, and both national championship games are single-game sessions; all other games in both tournaments are part of a doubleheader at a specific site. • NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball: The University of Kentucky has won 11 of the past 12 Men’s Basketball Attendance titles. The most recent, in 2008, saw Kentucky pull in an average of 22,554 fans per contest. Second place went to the University of North Carolina with an average of 20,497. [13] • The largest attendance ever recorded for a Euroleague match, or for any club match played indoors in Europe, occurred on March 5, 2009, when 22,567 filled Belgrade Arena in Belgrade, Serbia for a Euroleague Top 16 match between Partizan and Panathinaikos.[63]
