• Resident Students, Part-time Students and Long
Distance Student (Total of 1800 Students)
• Adopted an Open Source Policy operating Suse
Linux both at the Back end and the Front end.

The Nuffic IT Wireless project focuses on developing a
Centre of excellence with focus on: - Development of a
cost friendly rural wireless kit with UMU as a test bed.

Way forward
• Strengthening Inter institutional collaboration
• More need for tracer studies to give feedback to
the demands of industry
• Positive Discrimination in remuneration of IT
staff
• Strengthening and Supporting Research and
Publication as an add-on to existing net carry
home e.g I@Mak
