Euxton Methodist Cubs
9th September 2010
Over the next few weeks we hope to work on several badges which we hope
you will support. We are aware that many young people are unaware of the
dangers involved when they are out on the roads and we have decided to work
on the Cyclist badge. In order that the cubs can find their way safely to and
from places, we are also going to work on their Map Reader and Navigator
As part of the latter badges, we would like to take them for a short walk, for
which we need you permission. They would go out, accompanied, to nearby
Dunrobin Drive and Anderton Road in order to complete some of the badge
work. They would go in small groups on either 23rd or 30th September during
the normal cub meeting.
As part of the Cyclist badge, we intend to work on cycling skills on 23rd and 30th
September in the church hall car park and will then go on a bike ride on 7th
October round Buckshaw Village – this is a circular route mainly consisting of
level cycle paths which we feel is well within the capabilities of all the cubs.
We know that it is difficult to transport bikes, but hope that you can support
this badge work. We will need the bikes, in good working order, with lights,
bell and cycle helmet, to be brought to cub meetings on 23rd and 30th
September, and to be brought to The Bobbin in Buckshaw Village on 7th
October for the bike ride.
Please would you complete the attached permission forms in order that your
child can take part in these exercises.
Your support is greatly appreciated.
