Position Overview: The development intern is responsible assisting in the Development Director in donor

The Chicago Festival Association, producers of the McDonald’s® Thanksgiving Parade, is pleased to

The goal of our summer internship program is to expose extraordinary candidates to the projects and
environment associated with full-time work in quantitative analysis and software development at the D. E.
Shaw group. Interns interact with various trading groups and gain valuable work experience while
demonstrating their skills on a variety of real- world projects. For quantitative analyst interns, these
projects might include applying sophisticated numerical techniques and writing software to develop and
analyze statistical models for our computerized financial trading strategies, or researching financial
literature to identify new trading ideas and creating simulations to test them. Software development
interns work closely with full-time employees to build tools for the analysis of financial instruments as
well as to design and deploy real- time, scalable applications for the firm's highly automated trading
activities. Working closely with quants, developers, and other senior staff as mentors, interns can expect
an environment conducive to strong professional development. In addition, regularly scheduled social
events give interns the opportunity to interact with colleagues and learn about the goings-on at the firm as
a whole. Successful candidates have traditionally been the top students in their respective math, physics,
engineering, and computer science programs.

Hurricane Junior Golf Tour
Tournament Operations and Marketing Internship

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour is a Southeast Regional Golf Tour and was founded with the intention of
providing junior boys, and girls, golfers between the ages of 10-19 an opportunity to play exceptional
courses in a competitive environment. Our vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a
memorable one. Over the past three seasons the tour has grown at exponential proportions and has
become one of the premier Southern choices when it comes to Junior Golf. Since being founded in 2008
the tour has grown from 300 members and 25 events to more than 1,000 members and 45 events in the
2010 season. With this expansion, the Tour has also been fortunate enough to embody many

would: Manage the 14 SPILL chapters by speaking with each chapter president (campus reps) once a

when they need it; be involved in training them into their positions; review the progress of the chapter
presidents from week to week (via their email reports) and make recommendations for how they could be

management system; help chapter presidents in their fundraising efforts on campus - including reviewing
