School Bus Conduct Policy
Students transported on an RIS school bus are under the authority and responsibility of
the bus driver and/or bus assistant. All students have reviewed School Bus Safety rules
clearly in their classrooms. Following these five rules will ensure proper student conduct
on an RIS bus:
#1 Stay in your seat with your seatbelt on.
#2 Keep your arms and head inside the bus at all times. Keep your hands and feet to
yourself at all times.
#3 Use your quiet voice to talk with your friends.
#4 Keep your food and drinks closed inside your bag until you get home.
#5 When the bus arrives at your stop, wait for the bus assistant to open the door and
let you out.
School bus drivers and/or bus assistants maintain a daily log of student conduct. This log
is discussed daily with school administration, and any student misconduct is reported at
that time. In all cases, parents will be notified in a timely manner by administration
of their child’s bus misconduct. The escalation of consequences for continued student
