Accepting GroupWise Security Certificate in Internet Explorer 1. Launch Internet Explorer. 2. In the Address box, type http://gwweb.hsc.wvu.edu and press the Enter key on the keyboard. 3. The GroupWise Web Access page opens. Select the link Click here to trust the HSC Certificates. 4. A File Download dialog box opens stating, “Would you like to open the file or save it to your computer?” Click Open. Depending on the speed of your Internet connection, this download may take a few moments to complete. 5. The Certificate is displayed. Select the Install Certificate button. 6. The Certificate Import Wizard launches. Click Next. 7. Confirm that Automatically select the certificate store based on the type of certificate is selected and choose Next. 8. Choose Finish. 9. The Root Certificate Store dialog box opens. Click Yes. 10. Click OK. 11. Click OK to close the certificate. 12. From the GroupWise Web Access page, select HSC GroupWise WebAccess SECURE Login #1. If Login #1 is slow or unavailable, use the Back button in the toolbar and choose HSC GroupWise WebAccess SECURE Login #2. 13. Enter your Username and Password and then click Login. Updating Security for Internet Explorer It is necessary to update the security for Internet Explorer by installing a service pack. There are services packs for three different versions of Internet Explorer available through the ITS website. If you are unsure which version of Internet Explorer you have, then see the directions below. 1. Launch Internet Explorer. 2. Select Help from the Menu, and choose About Internet Explorer. 3. The version will be listed directly under the Internet Explorer name and logo. 4. Click the OK button to close the About Internet Explorer window. 5. In the list below, find the correct version. In the Address box, type in the proper website address for that version and press the Enter key on the keyboard. Or you can visit http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and have that update your system. 6. A File Download dialog box opens stating, “Would you like to open the file or save it to your computer?” Click Save. 7. Choose Desktop and then click the Save button. 8. Choose File and then Close from the Menu to close Internet Explorer. 9. From the Desktop, double click on the IE6rollup.exe icon to launch the installation of the update. 10. NOTE: If you get the message “This update requires Internet Explorer 6.0 to be installed.”, then your Internet Explorer was previously updated. Click OK to close the dialog box. Do need not continue with the remaining steps. 11. Choose Yes to install. 12. Please wait while Internet Explorer is updated. Choose OK. 13. Select Yes to restart your computer.
